  4. actually i wish i had a V8 or atleast a Turbo . but as its my first build i dont have a parts box yet . so for now its just running the little 60hp 4 cylinder . but im telling people its geared real low . maybe someday it will have a tune up
  5. Fun is very important . if you aint enjoying it then dont do it (speaking from a hobby perspective ) "aye aye" welcome aboard captain ha ha . but yes it will look nice up there . now if i can just get the shelf Built
  6. great truck . one of my favorite Chevy pickups allways liked that front with the "nostrills" .
  7. thank you GT Hey Gator yes they are Lego technic dont remember the specific kit just had them laying from when i was a kid . i just sanded the markings off . im sure you can still get them .
  8. hey so this is my first build a Mpc jeep . i choose to not just build it box stock. and went for a more challenging build. where i had to actually think and do some fabrication that was not on paper. i ended up using .metal mesh . Lego tires . broom-hair . q-tips. F40 seats ,a pen ,wire , diffent pieces of plastic , a rubber Eraser , and a key chainstrap. all this together with the mpc kit ended with this lifted jeep i call the Mud Toy. for a first build i am happy with it had such fun building it . thank you for checking it out . and feel free to leave a comment or just have a nice day..
  9. thank you Vince. yes the two colors go together really well
  10. here we go the big finale got the body and chassis joined and all kinds of small bits and bops added . and i guess im done then . it kind of crept up on me . all of a sudden its just done. but it has been 5 days of fun for very little money . i enjoyed it i foresee alot of fun projects in my future . so that concludes the Mud toy .
  11. yeah thanks and no problem. but the wheels does roll free of the fender so i dont know if its really a problem . glad you also like it i have definately thrown myself right into a trail by fire build here . but its comming together so that is great .
  12. thats awesome . well built something you dont see to often.
  13. hey Tony . they dont catch when its just sitting but if it had real suspension it would . i have thought about making the arch bigger but then my over fenders would be ruined . i have to think about that and see if i want to risk it ..
  14. Ha Ha..... yes it should really have a V8 . but gotta work with what we ´got. i guess its geared really low for now . and power steering is a must
  15. got some more done . I am really having fun building this little jeep. but also finding out what works or not. and problem solving along the way axels and suspension on . as you can see here I needed to move the rear axle underneath the leafs to get the clearance I needed then I made some Hubs to finally connect the wheels to the axles wheels mounted up . looks Beast ... ha ha then I did some detailing on the interior added racing seats and tried to make belts for the driver. The passenger just gets a Hold ON !!! handle that's it for now . oh no I also made a new front window glass as I cut the center beam out .no pic tho.
  16. thank you Mike . gotta say there is times where I think I should have stayed with a box stock . but then again I want to learn and the best way is just to try. and see what works. but I have had some problems especially today . but I got it straightend out to the best of my abilities . glad you like it .
  17. thanks man I'm happy with it so far . not perfect but it could be alot worse for a first build .
  18. ive tried to research the Otaki Corona kit . but I cant even find a single picture of one or any mentions anywhere . even if a kit is old and maybe rare you can usually find a picture or some info online .. what I do know is that Otaki closed down in the 80ies I'm guessing the corona is from the 70ies cause its a pre facelift 1970 model . but other companys bought otaki.s tools so this one might also be out there somewhere . so happy hunting hope you can find one sounds like good memories with your dads corona and sounds like it was a tough little bastard . they sure did know how to build em back in the day .
