  1. Nice painting Scott it’s ok I’m sure you can take care of that problem. Thanks for sharing
  2. That’s it!!! I was talking to Scott about it on his Thread because he post this pick of the coolest LJ I’ve ever seen the fenders reminds me of that Brockway. Jeff thanks a million and sharing that story. I remember seeing pics of all those Brockways just sitting not running anymore somewhere Picture is copied righted by the owner and is for reference only
  3. Yes it would not too familiar with Italeri kit I had one but didn’t like it for that reason. I wish someone would come out with some Mack Western Straight frame rails in 1/25 scale. With using the AMT kits Cruiseliner and a R Model you are limited to a Eastern Mack with that frame.
  4. Welcome aboard Ron glad to have you. As you might can tell I like them too. Superliners and the Superliners II are nice trucks E9 was a good V8 engine but I prefer a in-line engine in a Diesel any day.
  5. Time to build the Engine. When building these R Models I always like using my Original instructions I have from the first R model I built back in 1984 although I could probably done it I’m sure without them but I still like to use them. These old instructions to me are more simplified and easy specially pre-1978 when matchbox bought AMT and revamp some of the instructions and in 1980 when they came out with the updated version of the Mack R model and added the round fuel tanks and a chrome package. I appreciate Round2 for bringing these kits back but to me adding all the in-depth things to do in the instructions these days I think makes it more confusing for the modeler. I understand why they do it because the Times we live in today basic fundamentals of building a model went out the window not like how us old model builders did back in the day when we use our brain to build a model.
  6. Was the humidity high just wondering it’s happened to me before even when I think it’s safe
  7. I was going to do that Jeff but changed my mind. Jeff what was the Mixer company name you built a couple years ago on our BRBO it was a Brockway with pit fenders seems it was Green and Red drum. Can you post a pic. Then we’ll get back on topic 😂
  8. I’ve seen a restored B model in this paint scheme. Nice Scott I like the green and orange.
  9. I like Exhaust port Steve looks convincing especially in this scale.
  10. I agree. Orange and Green is my favorite colors.
  11. Thanks for in lighting me on that tiller. The cracking could be anything maybe it was some mold release that was tucked in a corner. I hate stripping resin that’s why I scrub it as clean as I can before I give it a light coat of primer and let it sit for a couple days. Some of these guys use cheap resin that sets up but the oils still comes out. That’s why I give it a very light coat of primer and let it sit. When I had my little Resin casting company (Tired Iron Replicas) in the mid 1990s I always used high quality Resin and Rubber.
  12. Thanks Dom I appreciate your complement. I really like that Orange too I got a half a can left then I’m going have to search for another source. If I can get the plan together I’m planning on making a pre 1973 Mack R flat back pumper if I get stuck may have to call you 😂
  13. No worries Jeff it’s good info and it’s on subject in my opinion. Here in the states they state decides what colors I think. Missouri is a School Bus Yellow. I’m painting this Mack base on the State of Illinois Hwy Department scheme they had in the 90s. The truck will be a County truck.
  14. Jeff thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was a regular trucking company.
  15. Thanks Jeff for complement and stopping by. Yes it’s a bright one.
  16. Thanks Warren. Do you think it’s better that the one that’s in the kit? I have the kit one just don’t know if I want to use it.
  17. Thanks Brian I appreciate it. I’ll have to look that company up. Some of those Canadian companies were colorful.
  18. Ok I will. Talk to ya tomorrow calling it a night.
  19. Sounds pretty neat Jeff I’m sure there up to days standards. I’ll go check them out. Thanks
  20. I would some research on it that might help with your decision.
  21. Who’s are you using? I have the old Jim Etter one and I think Kit Form Services is the other. The old 1980 Jim Etter now AITM is a hunk of heavy metal walking beams. Kit Form Services is a little better made with brittle resin.
  22. We’ll just be happy with it not fairly Jeff. Looking good my friend. Any updates soon.
