  1. is that trailer OOP now? I'd be interested in a skateboard. Really love the gray-purple color. I didn't think a 377+flatbed combo would look all that good but you certainly proved me wrong. great work.
  2. I emailed him a couple days ago and he emailed me back, those prices are still accurate. I just need to get some more modeling money.
  3. something I'd like to see would be military style dually rims, maybe dual M47s? They'd be great for projects, especially with something like the T47s on them.
  4. as in along the left and right side of the grille? Dennis, how long did it take you to get your parts in from Gary?
  5. Thanks for the info on that, he just emailed me back. Probably gonna go with his kit considering that it's significantly cheaper.
  6. Looks really good. Could you do me a favor and measure the length of the ramp bed? I wanna build one of these LN8ks but I don't want the really long frame, I have some other plans for it.
  7. That's great work. What are the tires and wheels from?
  8. So I have two Revell '69 Camaros. One is the Yenko spec, one is the Baldwin Motion "Streetburner" one. I've just peeked in the boxes and I can't really tell too much of a difference between kits. I was considering maybe throwing both together into one car with a combo of parts, or selling one. Can anybody give me more info? Thanks.
  9. Thanks sam, I hope the email for Gary I found is still good. If not I'll have to save up and go the AITM route.
  10. So I'm gonna pick up a MPC reissue of the DM600, but I want to make it a steel nose (to imitate a DM800 which I absolutely cannot afford) and I was curious if someone makes a conversion set to take a normal DM600 to a steel nose like this; and if so, who. I'm also curious as to what the mechanical differences (if any) there were between the steel and normal hoods (engines, transmissions, etc.) that I'd have to compensate for. Thanks.
  11. the plan is Scenes Unlimited M41s (with their wheel backs) and Scenes Unlimited T47 tires. Still deciding if I want dually rears or normal singles.
  12. So this is my '41 rat rod dump truck I'm working on. It started life as a Revell '41 GMC pickup 2'n'1 that was already painted and somewhat built, so I stripped the paint off; chopped off the rear of the body (and tried to lower the roof, which didn't work, so I just chopped the whole thing off), and then I threw in the motor I didn't use from the Revell Peterbilt 359 kit. The air intake, driveshaft, and stack are from the parts bin, and the interior is almost all custom with the exception of the Revell GT350H seat. The whole thing is painted in Rustoleum camo brown. The bed is the stock bed with a custom front, and the sides and tailgate flipped upside down to make a dump bed, with some styrene tube gussets. I plan to order some Scenes Unlimited rims and tires for it (M41 rims wrapped in T47 rubber) when the modeling budget isn't so tight.
  13. It looks to be at the back of the hood (past the fenders and the intake), going all the way around. Shouldn't be too hard to build. As for the dump bed, with some work, I believe AITM's KT20 15' dump bed should work. I can't find a conversion from the eggcrate to the grille she had yet other than what Plaskit might have. More than likely gonna have to scratchbuild that.
  14. Probably around a 14 yarder given the size of the truck and everything. Really hope you can find a good picture, it would help a great deal.
  15. It was more than likely a Cummins NH series, somewhere between 230 and 350 horsepower since the LN9ks didn't offer a 2-stroke DD at any point in their life cycle as fae as I'm aware. As for parts (rear axles, dump body, etc.) I'd look at American Industrial Truck Models. They have plenty of good stuff. It's quite pricey but it's great quality. Engine-wise you could probably get a NHC250 (which is close to what you need, might need to fabricate some stuff) from the AMT single/dual drive Freightliner cabovers.
  16. KJ has a new trailer out? I'll have to look at that. Should be a neat build, although I don't think that top aero fairing will pair well with a skateboard, but that's just me.
  17. Generally duals are used on a tag axle on any truck but a supersingle would work too. It's all about driver (or in this case, modeler) preference.
  18. Is there any kind of pin connecting the 5th wheel to the frame? I'm building one and from what I can see, it only just rests on the mount.
  19. So I'm working on the Revell 359 and I'm just mocking the frame up to see how it sits and everything before I paint and lock it down for good, and I can't for the life of me figure out how the rear axes go together. Can anyone give me a hand? If you're curious, it's gonna be a purple and black 2-tone classic paintjob. I'll post pics of it when there's more to show than one painted fender and a masked off cab with a black top. I ran out of TS40 metallic black - gotta make an emergency trip to the hobby store.
  20. My only feedback would be to weather the trailer sides some to tie it together with the weathered front and back and bring down some of the toylike shine to the chrome sides. Otherwise, looks great.
  21. That's very nice man. I wasn't really going for a fire truck on this build when I started, it was supposed to be more of a service truck but it got closer to a fire truck the further into the build I got.
  22. I really like that Cat forklift. Was that a kit or scratchbuilt?
  23. I had this crazy thought. What if you bought another one of the green ones (I'm pretty sure someone in the wanted section is selling one here) and got it painted up in the gold and then extended the roof and used it on the extended bus to add some flavor to it? I know it's crazy but it could look really cool.
  24. Looks very good. Did you shoot the cab and hood in silver then mask and shoot in blue or did you shoot in blue and mask and then shoot the silver on? Gotta say I really like the green engine. My 359 build is gonna have a green engine because of this.
  25. What'd you use for the dechroming? Bleach soak? Looks really clean man. Well done.
