  1. right?!? Like i said I was a little disappointed at first.... but i dont think i mind it. It's certainly different. I'd like to see it in the sunlight.
  2. Epic fail on the orange. Kind of disappointed that I decided to lay black before the orange but thought it would lay fine with a couple coats. Now I have like a goldish off color green.... don't know if I hate it yet... might be a trip to a zip lock bag with some oven cleaner.... let me know what you think....
  3. Finally decided on interior colors. Flocked with card stock thru a cheese grater and screen from a window.
  4. Quick throw together to see how it's lookin. Gonna dig the orange. Still unsure of the interior.
  5. thank you! Happy building!
  6. They're definitely extremely nice. Great face lift from the 08. Your buddies car is the generation after this one right? Like the current generation?
  7. yeahI painted a 69 that color as well. I do really enjoy it but want something more pearlesent. I do like the idea of carbon fiber but haven't worked with any (such as decals and whatnot) I mixed up some orange with turn signal amber and a touch of copper last night and painted a plastic spoon to get an idea about how it'll reflect with body lines and such.... model masters has a great pearl orange color too.
  8. i agree with you on the pumpkin issue. And I don't think I'm going gloss the black. I think I want to matte black it. As for the orange I think I want to be as close to that orange as possible. The 69 came out almost a burnt copper reddish color so I want to keep this more of a true orange. I'm thinking leather black interior with aluminum detail. I also think I'll black out the tail and wheels.
  9. thank you!
  10. Well since the '69 was a home run and the 96 grand sport was pretty fun.... let's try this out. Seems to be much like the 2010 gt500 I just got done with! (Which you can find in the under glass section)... If you want to peek.... anyways not exactly sure where I'm going yet but I'm digging the metallic orange gloss with matte black not sure about an interior yet... still bouncing ideas around.... tell me whatya think!
  11. i meant to quote you in my response. If you didn't see, I had posted your answer above.
  12. Testers copper shot thru an airbrush. I made it with 3 parts paint, 2 parts acetone. Siphon fed aztek airbrush. I used these pics as a reference
  13. it's kinda crazy to me how detailed the car is and the timing cover and supercharger snout are all one piece.... good to hear there's more blue ones out there. Best color on these I think.
  14. thank you!
  15. Part of the retro muscle car collection I'm starting. 2010 gt500 with deja blue metallic/silver exterior, and satin apple red/silver/satin black interior. I very much enjoyed building this. I'd put money on this being the cleanest build I've ever done. The kit goes together amazingly and is detailed very nicely. The only gripes I have are the stock ride height and the fact there's a gap between the supercharger snout.
  16. Little mock up so far....
  17. Thank you! Ive taken the summer off. But feel some creativity flowin! Chillier weather here in NH makes it easier to sit on tinker inside vs outside... gotta finish the firechicken after this I think.
  18. Well after shooting the true blue pearl/black chrome over a black base I decided I didn't care for the depth of the color on the mustang. Instead I went with deja blue over the black base. I'll be using the silver stripes and doing the interior satin black/ satin apple red/ silver.
  19. I agree. Absolutely HAS to be rear wheel drive. It'd be a travesty if it weren't.
  20. yeah I agree. Though I think a lot of them got weird in the 70's.
  21. thanks! I'll post pics soon. I've wanted to do this for a while but I still have to get the challenger and charger. And still want to get the camaro that's not the showroom replica.
  22. this is the chevelle concept I've seen and quite honestly don't hate it. I hope they don't reinvent the chevelle because it will tarnish what the car is in my opinion. It's iconic. It's a car that never really bought into the corporate America scene. That's how it should stay.
