Starting the retro muscle collection!
Plastic_Passion replied to Plastic_Passion's topic in WIP: Model Cars
absolutely! There's certainly no replacement for a piece of art like that. I'd love to have a chevelle like that 69. The chevelle aged very nicely. For the most part anyway. I think they were ugly in their beginning. Also nothing beats looking under the hood and seeing another work of art all in itself. Now it's all plastic covers covering everything up to make it loom "clean and organized". -

Lol I've seen a few concepts out there that look oh so good. Like the chevelle ss concept. Or the Cuda concept... huge fan of the cuda. -
I'm about to start the retro muscle cars of the big 3. Already did the showroom replica of the 2010 camaro as. It was ok... rather have done the full kit and I will eventually. Now I'm doing the 2010 shelby gt500... kit looks great out of the box. Not a whole lot of clean up needed. Molded very well. Doing the stang in black chrome/true blue pearl mix. Black and red interior. Can't decide if I want to do white stripes with thin red lines on each side.... or if I want to use silver stripes... we'll see. After this will be the challenger and a charger.

sweet I'll have to remember to go all the way to the quarter window when I get around to that. I didn't realize it went all the way back.

the aar Cuda had the black hood and if I recall the top of the fenders next to the hood too. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I've always love the aar and probably be my second car I'd buy after winning the lottery. Right behind a demon or hellcat. I do love this paint job you've done. It has amazing dimension.

i was thinkin the same thin Snake! I like what you've done with it. The headlights are a real cool touch!

thank you! I'm a dodge guy too. My daily driver is an 04 hemi ram reg cab short bed. I wish they'd make a model out of it. I'd love to do a replica of my truck and a "what I want it to look like" model of it. -

That is a sweet sweet ride! Very clean! I like your marker lights in the front they even have the offcolor spot from a reflector! Are they decal? I like the car a lot. Did it go together well?

And now for a cult classic... the 89 Beretta gtu
Plastic_Passion replied to Plastic_Passion's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It'd be crazy if gm actually stuffed a small block in it and made it rear wheel drive like the actual Beretta gtu race car was!!!! -

Thanks guys. I have the side glass and such. Don't care for the half side louvers or really the rear window louvers. They just seem off to me. The iroc louvers on the hood were an option in the kit. As was a turbo for the 2.8 that came with it. Never seen a turbo on a 2.8 in real life but figured why Not? I want to get the gtz eventually. Which came with the in line four "iron duke" snake was talking about. But the gtz has different bumpers and ground effects than the gtu did. I didn't go to crazy on the interior really but it came out okay. I also tried tinting the windows and smoking the tail lights... still waiting on the wheels to come in. The box stock tires didn't fit the wheel backs that came with the kit but they're gatorbacks so I'll put them in the "idea bin" -
Of anyone that's done this kit. How did you like it? I think it's pretty decent so far.... got some 19 in ch wheels coming for it... probably won't use the window louvers but I am trying to find the windows....

I'd rather have the ram over the f150 also. Not a huge ford fan myself. Just thought I'd throw it in there as they're both sport trucks. Believe it or not I just used some window screen at an angle. Look decent. It's not the honeycomb I would've liked but it's ok. -

Finally done with it! Came out pretty ok. Used vinyl for the stripes as I didn't get along with the decals. Cut out the grill and bumper parts and used some screen in there. I also used the tires from the 96 impala ss as I didn't agree with the goodyear truck tires that came in the kit. Thanks for lookin!
