  1. Wow! Thanks for all the input! I really appreciate it. I've worked with Bondo and Glazing putty on real cars before,. Never thought about using it on models, them being plastic and all. My other hobby is my last "hurrah" in building a street rod. I've built several over the years and my dumb butt sold them . Got the itch again and decided on a 1972 Ford Ranchero. Off frame rebuild. Thanks again for the info
  2. Thank you . I didn't want to use model putty because of the cracking. I will try the bondo . I have an O'reilly's here in Middleburg.
  3. Ooops.....talking 1/25 model cars
  4. What is a body filler that won't break the bank?
  5. Re-new my wrinkly old hairy butt!!! I want to subscribe! Get them, (the magazines), when you get them ready. Makes the waiting even more hard! LOL Tell me how to subscribe Also, have you tried a You Tube video on your magazine? Thanks!
  6. er.....had to get the chrome plating off
  7. Ok. Bought me a "Tea Ball" at Wally World for about $3.00. Used to make tea. Put tea leaves in ball and dip in hot water to make tea. Not me. Put alternator and 2 carburetors for Dodge Dart in it. Put it in the stripper. worked great. Didn't have to "fish" around for parts. See Below
  8. Also plan on having the right firing order on the plugs
  9. Rusty, I've attached my references for the engine I found online. I want this build to be like I would've built it back in late 60s , early 70s on a working man's budget. Something you would actually see on the street. I plan on shackles, air Hi-jacker air shocks, chrome traction bars. Stuff I would've bought and would've put on my car "back in the day" Phillip. Thanks. I got Purple Power at Wal-Mart for $5.00 a gallon. Bought a plastic bucket , with a lid at Homely Deport for 5 bucks and keep it in the garage. Will use it until it gets too bad to use and will dump that out and buy another gallon. I'm fortunate enough to have a detached garage to do that in
  10. Zooming right along! Finished the valve covers for the motor to go in the Dodge Dart. Hang in there for future updates......if you live so long, lol
  11. Nice build. that's one I need to get
  12. Yeah, you don't want a "dead" battery, (snicker)
  13. Very nice! Great job!
  14. Got your PM ....thanks
  15. Well, got the parts out of the cleaner, Came out good EXCEPT for I had glued the hood shut and broke the corners off. Was hoping the cleaner would dissolve the glue was I could repair it. It didn't. Also I'm surprised the plastic turned green. You can see the difference where the body was exposed and where the paint was. Anybody got a '56 Chevy body and hood I get ?
  16. Probably back as a street hot rod. Just more detail and new paint. Want to try my Airbrush since I've never used one. ZTony8---no,no, not that good to try that yet,lol
  17. Wow! Nice job so far. Watching the build, (taking notes, lol)
  18. Ok. the shirt is just way too cool. Great build, love it
  19. I'd say with a grey interior, just about any color would work. Personal preference in this case. Love the build
  20. Nice work. Watching the build! Keep the pics coming
  21. Nice work so far. Be watching...
