Hello, Rescribed the trunk and worked the mold lines in the back. A test coat of primer shows we are moving in the right direction. Still some more work but moving along. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, You may remember I recently participated in a local build-off where the topic was Corvettes. The local folks have come up with the first build-off of the year. The topic: European road car, no race cars. Since the topic is quite broad, and I always want to be different, I'm not doing a Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche or VW. I entered these: Second choice: 1906 Renault Towne car in 1/32 But the main choice is this: The time is only 4 months, so I doubt I'll finish both. Especially since the main one is a Heller. I also registered a Lambo and a Ferrari but who am I kidding? Anyways, here we go with the Talbot. This will be the road counterpart to the Talbot race car I did a while ago. First order of business: Mold lines, which are prominent in this kit. Started with the rear left quarter. Not much but it is officially started. Stay tuned for more... Thanks, Ismael

Dude, you forgot to paint the car! Very nice and convincing finish. Really great.

Great job on both the car and the scenery.

Gorgeous! Joe, I need it to use it as a reference to restore my 1:1 in the garage

Without taking any merit away from the gorgeous build, the associated back story really makes it ultra special. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, And this one is DONE! First of 2024. Custom C2 Corvette based on the AMT 1/43 'Vette Showrod, made from 3 junkers. You can follow the progress thread here: And yes, it is 1/43!!! I'm happy with it. But like Enzo Ferrari used to say "My best car will be the next one". What do you think? Thanks for accompanying me in this adventure! Ismael

Hello, If you don't find the exact part you need, make it! Start with appropriate size tubing. If you don't have metal (preferred), plastic will do. Cut a piece. Carefully ream from the inside and then sand to the desired angle. Go to town with your choice of paint. Aluminum in my case. Test for a snug fit: Repeat: Get appropriate size craft beads, paint them clear red, install and... TA-DAAHHH!!!! Thanks, Ismael -

Hello, That's weird. I've never had much success painting the raised details on 1/24 tires. But these are 1/43, almost half the scale. I was about to give up on this one but after many tries... Thanks, Ismael -

Hello, Polished the roof just as a test. Looking good but I'll wait a few more days before continuing with the rest of the car. Thanks, Ismael -

Hello, This week's slower progress as I have been very busy at work. Body has been cleared. Let it rest for a few days before attempting polishing. The smaller the scale the more toy-ish heavy chrome looks. Compare the grille with an untouched one. Stripped the chrome, deepened the slots. Painted aluminum and added those vertical bars to hint the presence of hidden headlights. A black wash gets it home. As I said, the smaller the scale, the more toy-ish chrome looks. stripped, sanded and painted aluminum. More work on this later on. Detailed the one piece hacked chassis Lots of work on the shoes. Yes, they have valve stems. Stripped untouched wheel to the left. Thanks, Ismael -

Thanks! Hello again, WHAT? Do you want to do a fade paint job in a 1/43 toy-ish model? Are you insane? Are you out of your mind? YEP! Scalefinishes Corvette Jetstream Blue with a Badger 150 airbrush, Cobra Colors Ferrari Argento Nurburgring silver (leftover from a 2004 model project) with a Badger GFX airbrush. Thanks, Ismael
