  1. Hello, Work continues on the body to ensure the hood pieces fit properly. May not look like, but there are a few days of work here. And this lump will eventually become an engine. Thanks, Ismael
  2. Hello, Repeat with me: BOX STOCK! So the hood halves are the second and third part I touch on this build. Already ditching some kit's parts and will attempt to hinge them... Only Heller would mold the body in one color and the hood in another color. Thanks, Ismael
  3. Steve, That is a fantastic story and a cool model in itself! Thanks, Ismael
  4. Hello, It turned out beautiful! I just started this kit. I hope mine comes out half as good as yours. Thanks, Ismael
  5. Hello again, After a good wash and dry, a quick coat of primer reveals the real progress showing where more work is needed and where it is getting there. Leveling and rescribing the trunk. Thanks, Ismael
  6. Hello, Looks awful now, but patience. Butterflies start as ugly worms. Worked the mold lines carefully as this body has many compound curves. Thanks, Ismael
  7. By the way, this is a big car. Here it is next to a 1/25 '63 Corvette. The Talbot is 1/24 but still the size difference is significant. Thanks, Ismael
  8. Hello, Rescribed the trunk and worked the mold lines in the back. A test coat of primer shows we are moving in the right direction. Still some more work but moving along. Thanks, Ismael
  9. Hello, You may remember I recently participated in a local build-off where the topic was Corvettes. The local folks have come up with the first build-off of the year. The topic: European road car, no race cars. Since the topic is quite broad, and I always want to be different, I'm not doing a Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche or VW. I entered these: Second choice: 1906 Renault Towne car in 1/32 But the main choice is this: The time is only 4 months, so I doubt I'll finish both. Especially since the main one is a Heller. I also registered a Lambo and a Ferrari but who am I kidding? Anyways, here we go with the Talbot. This will be the road counterpart to the Talbot race car I did a while ago. First order of business: Mold lines, which are prominent in this kit. Started with the rear left quarter. Not much but it is officially started. Stay tuned for more... Thanks, Ismael
  10. Fabulous project! I was not aware of this car nor the model.
  11. Thank you all! Really appreciate the nice comments. Thanks, Ismael
  12. Hello, Was this model finished? I am late to the party but I'm glad I found this. I am about to start building this kit. Thanks, Ismael
  13. Really nice! That was the color of my first brand new car, a '93 Chevy Cavalier.
  14. Dude, you forgot to paint the car! Very nice and convincing finish. Really great.
  15. Great job on both the car and the scenery.
  16. Gorgeous! Joe, I need it to use it as a reference to restore my 1:1 in the garage
  17. Without taking any merit away from the gorgeous build, the associated back story really makes it ultra special. Thanks, Ismael

Nice conversion and tribute down memory lane!
  19. Great sinister look. Overall a great build but LOVE that color!
  20. Beautiful model of a beautiful car! Great job!
  21. That has to be the most beautiful Bonneville convertible I've ever seen. Gorgeous work! Thanks Ismael
  22. Hello, This one is finished and posted Under Glass! Thanks, Ismael
  23. Hello, And this one is DONE! First of 2024. Custom C2 Corvette based on the AMT 1/43 'Vette Showrod, made from 3 junkers. You can follow the progress thread here: And yes, it is 1/43!!! I'm happy with it. But like Enzo Ferrari used to say "My best car will be the next one". What do you think? Thanks for accompanying me in this adventure! Ismael
  24. Hello, If you don't find the exact part you need, make it! Start with appropriate size tubing. If you don't have metal (preferred), plastic will do. Cut a piece. Carefully ream from the inside and then sand to the desired angle. Go to town with your choice of paint. Aluminum in my case. Test for a snug fit: Repeat: Get appropriate size craft beads, paint them clear red, install and... TA-DAAHHH!!!! Thanks, Ismael
  25. Hello, That's weird. I've never had much success painting the raised details on 1/24 tires. But these are 1/43, almost half the scale. I was about to give up on this one but after many tries... Thanks, Ismael
