  1. Hello, Don't you hate it love it when something pops out of nowhere and gets center stage for a while? ? And this is just scratching the surface... Thanks, Ismael
  2. Hello, It seems this will be the year of 1/43 for me. For a while I've been looking at the AMT 'Vette Showrod custom Corvette on ebay, waiting on a bargain. I know, I'm cheap. Picture from my friend Rob: It seems the model was released back in the 60's as the Mini Trophy Series, then reissued in 1974 as the 'Vette Showrod and then in the late 70's early 80's as the Street Magic. Anyways, I got my bargain in the form of 3 junkers: All 3 are missing the rear bumpers. But been a custom, no big deal. First order of business was to disassemble all 3. The blue one was the most challenging as it was a glue bomb. And one thing led to another and all of a sudden I was hacking the worst chassis (glue bombed) and combining with the best body. Glued in place to work the bodywork blending. The square holes were plugged with styrene and will eventually be smoothed out. I have an idea for the rear. This was never intended to be a "serious" model. More like a toy in the 60's. So fit is not expected to be spectacular. That's where blending will come in. Stay tuned as I'm suffering from a Severe Project Hopping Syndrome attack. Thanks, Ismael
  3. Looking good in yellow!
  4. Hello, Great job so far. Nice color. Interesting, I'm considering that color for a Ferrari 430. The 360 Modena is one of my all time favorite Ferraris and the Tamiya kit is one of my all time favorite kits. I built mine 20 years ago and it is still one of the best kits I've ever done. Cobra Colors Ferrari Giallo Modena (Modena yelow) Thanks, Ismael

  7. Very elegant ride!
  8. Great job and the most unusual subject. Love it! I love those early years of cars.
  9. Excellent job on all of them. The Vega is just wicked!
  10. Very nice all of them! That safety frame is really cool!

  12. Hello, Sorry for the late reply. Thank you all! I really appreciate it. It was a nice year and I hope 2024 is even better! Regards, Ismael
  13. Great job replicating your sweet ride!
  14. Very cool! As you mentioned that was very popular back in the 90's. Another popular conversion here is a rotary swap. You did a great job in the conversion. I also dig that custom tonneau cover. Thanks, Ismael
  15. All very nice! That BMW really caught my attention.
  16. Hello, Slowly moving in the right direction. The casting is very nice. Very minor bodywork will be required. Thanks, Ismael

  18. All very nice! Love that Pace Car. The El Camino is wild and we previously met Jade, Onyx and the others. Great job on all!
  19. Very nice! Beautiful job with an important story behind it.
  20. All very nice! The '57 Chevy and the Superbird are my favorites.
  21. Hello, Easy does it. I'm treating this with the care as if it was the real car ? Couple hours of work. So far so good with good progress. Thanks, Ismael
  22. Hello, As I have mentioned elsewhere, the 1957 Corvette SS is my all time favorite car. Well, a close second is the 1959 Stingray Racer which was built on an SS chassis. Built in "secret" during the official AMA ban on factory racing support, Bill Mitchell took it racing "privately" in 1959 with good success, winning the SCCA National Championship in 1960 with Dr. Dick Thompson as the driver. It was the inspiration for the '63 Sting Ray. GM pressured Mitchell to withdraw from racing. He drove it as his personal vehicle and it eventually became one of the most popular show cars. I am puzzled as to why it has never been offered as a scale model. Back in the 60's, there was a vacuum-formed body in 1/25 that has been used to make a model, but in my search I haven't seen one for sale in over 20 years searching. I imagine the price will be outrageous if one pops up. So it turns out the French company Starter offered a resin model of it in 1/43 scale many years ago. Long story made short, I was able to track down and get a built one for restoration. The glass is broken. The photoetch script is a lost cause. Wheels and tires are a joke for now. It was nicely painted, but the wrong color. Too dark. So, within a few hours of careful work I was able to disassemble it completely. And here is where we are now. Next step: Carefully strip the paint from the body. This will be a slow project and a labor of love. So bear with me. What do you think? Your comments are always appreciated. Thanks, Ismael
  23. Excellent group! Love your take on the C7R, as well as your '67 Corvette. The Nova is killer. Also like the late Camaro conv and the Trans Am. Heck, I like them all!
  24. Very Nice. That Packard is the definition of classic beauty! The MGB is gorgeous as well.
  25. Very nice all of them!
