  1. Hi Ernie, Could I get a set. I would like to try them out. send them to "gsoto6@msn.com" and Thank You very much. I hope you can recover well enough to get back to your building.
  2. I kind of remember back in the early seventies, A monogram model it was yellow molded plastic, kind of like a rocket powered motorcycle. That all I remember it sure would be cool to find one again.
  3. I would wholeheartedly agree with this statement especially true is the replacement parts Availability. No one wants to be held up waiting on some Stupid little seal ring when all they want to do is finish a project, I own several Airbrushes all single action and have had good luck with the Badger 200 series which have metal bodies and Teflon (not rubber) seals.
  4. I heard Fred Rogers was a government spy who had hooked with Julia Childs once during the cold war.
  5. Bob is a great resource for models and supplies Although the store does'nt stock much anymore, I guess with the economy it is more practical for Hobbytown to order what you might want. However Like I said Bob is always willing to help you get what you need, if you need something special just ask. He may have it at home in his vast collection of model parts and stuff. But dont just put your wants, and needs. on Bobs shoulder's Todd is the new owner and is is quite interested in what you might want for supplies and kits, so it would be good to get to know him as well. even though he is more familiar with RC "YUCK".
  6. I remember it Barely, The concept was good but the execution was lousy. When the members commitee could'nt come to a consensus on how they wanted it to run it all fell apart. It was basically started after the last Copperstate show.
  7. I remember about 11 or 12 years ago this one guy was in the club, He came from Hawaii. He usually only built snap kits, had some crazy dream about having his own "MODEL CARS Magazine" some day. Wow how crazy is that! A real Plastic Fanatic that guy was.
  8. Ben, Your best bet is to use the gloss enamel black just like it says to, Set your pressure to 15psi and do multiple coats of the Alclad. When I use it the first pass is always the one with the most chrome like shine, and always if I overdue it by making to many passes it dulls out to an aluminum appearance. Which is what you may be wanting to achieve. As far as being too expensive it does'nt take a whole lot of paint(Alclad) to do this because you dont need to put much on.
  9. that is really progressing well, your making this look too easy lol.
  10. I Belong to the moonlight Modelers club here in Phoenix. I live in Gilbert, and we gather on the 3rd saturday of every month at a hosting members house .We have members from all over the valley, and state. The Moonlight club is celebrating a 30 year anniversary this year and is a Great club with some very good people both past and present who have a genuine passion for the hobby.http://www.moonlightmodelers.com/ this is a link to the club if you are interested we always have room for another builder.

  12. Very Nice work, I would love to see more. It looks like you have a green light from Harry, Thats as good as gold!
  13. Try Tamiya Mica blue
  14. I am going to float concrete patching into that area to fill it it in and level it out then coat it with Garage floor epoxy coating to match it up. It will look good when I am done, I HOPE. That will be more towards the end of it all. Next up will be Door casing, baseboards, Bought, finished, and installed.
  15. I Have done some more work on my hobby room And wanted to post some progress pictures moving day wont be very far away. http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/modelroom/
  16. Those look great Good luck with your venture these should sell well
  17. If it were mine, I would paint it cream color for the top section. and dark blue on the lower half, with a white stripe seperating the two colors. that would give it a nostalgic feel.IMHO
  18. Hey Gregg will you personally be at the IPMS Nationals in Phoenix next year?
  19. Very cool, I sure could use some of those wheels.
  20. Pegasus has more Aftermarket Items than Hobbytown in vegas I have been to both stores. For example pegasus has resin from Replicas and minatures of maryland,Detail master, Model car garage and Paint from house of colors. plus some very cool kits. I live in Arizona Los Angeles is about an 8 hour drive and vegas is about 5 hours and if I had a choice I would go to Pegasus. You Might Even get to meet Snoop Dogg. while you are there
  21. Pegasus is such great place to go, It has it all. I was truly impressed with their shop, if you can make it there you should.
  22. There is a Hobbytown in Clark county which has lots of kits and some cool diecast stuff, but not much in the way of detailing supply. It is geared mostly for the RC and train guys. Across the street is a place called Hobby People, they have some current kits at decent prices they are both worth a look.
  23. Here are some more pictures of my hobby room in progress. I am just learning the Drywall stage, I dont expect it to be perfect and it will most likely have pictures hanging from all over the wall anyway.http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/modelroom
  24. Really cool lookin model, I love it.
