  1. Henderson Hobbies might be the one to focus on, I personally have never been to it though. I have been to Hobbytown, and Hobby People. Lots of kits and diecast at both. The H.T. has some real nice High end diecast, some detail parts resin, is mostly military oriented. The H.P. has close to the same. more mainstream diecast.Kit prices are about the same.
  2. I have been working on steering linkage and just added some new pictures. http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/drag-racing/4.html I used some brass and soldered it together, Originally I had used plastic rod but it was a little flimsy. Thanks for looking Gabriel
  3. Gregg, My Family gave me a subscription to Model Cars for my fathers day gift. Question is if it was mailed out on the 18th of june, When would I expect to recieve the first Issue?. Gabriel Soto

  6. I have gotten Started on the Dragster and wanted to show some progress pictures this is great work and I want to do a few more http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/drag-racing/
  7. I have used a sharpened toothpick, Dipped into silver paint(not too much) and CAREFULLY with my steadiest hand. trace the lettering. it takes a little practice, however when it works it is beautiful.
  8. Thanks Drew, I think I can handle that.
  9. That was a great Idea Harry. I sent an e-mail a few minutes before I read this.
  10. A candle would work well. Or a small torch. just get the PE red Hot once is all you need to do. Do not hold it the flame for extended time, because it can melt away practice on a scrap piece if your not sure.
  11. Len first try Annealing, The metal clamp then you can polish it some. to get the shine back. I then use an object round and in a smaller Diameter than what the part (hose) you want to use "toothpicks" work pretty good after you get a tight bend from working the metal around the toothpick. you can lightly spread it and it will fit somewhat tightly on the hose. Annealing makes the metal softer, and easier to work with. which is the key to bending this small stuff.
  12. In this edition of the magazine.Drew Hierwarter discusses modifying the AMT dragster frame. It is an interesting article and I would like to replicate a frame like this. A small concern has come to mind. Drew did not completely explain, and I cant really tell from the pictures. How he brought the end of the frame. Where it attaches to the torsion bar together. Was this modified to taper together? or are the rails just stacked and glued to the torsion bar?
  13. Very Nice Jackets. no doubt. but in Phoenix Arizona, I only use a Jacket about two weeks out of the year.
  14. Here is a link to the one I built. http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/paintbooth/ it appears to work fine, I know others might disagree, There was a story circulating about a Homemade style booth that caused some injuries.
  15. This was a replica of a car that was around, when I was just starting high school http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/finished-models/ I have just found some cool side mirrors. that I will be adding later.
  16. I would think that, The Gunze Ferrari kits might have that type of tire.
  17. Wow, I have never seen that done before. I think I will try it soon thanks.
  18. I think newest Re-issue, of the 1965 chevy stepside pickup has some dog dish hubcaps. like those. if you want resin the latest scale auto magazine has a nova buildup that shows some in resin.
  19. Zoli, where do you get the reference information/drawings for these fabulous trucks?
  20. Very Nice work on those suspension pieces
  21. I have one of those,It is made of styrene plastic.
  22. I tried some of the Valspar brand, Partially because I liked the price. it did however cause some crazing. On the model that I used it on, which was the new Revell 57 chevy. On some other parts I used it on they turned out OK. Also it takes a long time to dry completely.3 days for a laquer based product that is way too long.
  23. Could someone post a picture of a can of the new Plasticote primer. also if a picture showing the part/product number would be helpful. I have been to Michaels, here in Arizona and they dont appear to know anything about plasticote brand being for sale. at their stores here.
  24. Congratulations! your count is showing 2008 and I just jumped up one for myself
