  1. Beautifully built. I like the carbon fiber decals on the dash. I was considering spraying 2K clear over the decals on my current NASCAR build and I think you've convinced me to do it. Is this the Revell Chase Elliott glue kit?
  2. Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished product. I picked up a few of the Danica Fusion kits and may have to do this livery next...
  3. Thanks! I've been using a lot of your builds as reference. They've been very helpful. Unfortunately the car has already been primed and painted so I'll live with the small window net, but I will keep this in mind for my next build.
  4. Oh yeah I can get away with replicating the hose, but the ducts themselves on the side windows won't be easy to replicate.
  5. That would be Watkins Glen. The pit wall is on the drivers side at Sonoma.
  6. Thanks! I'm not sure if I can do anything about the NACA ducts on the rear side windows but I'll see what I can do.
  7. Thanks for the feedback! I ended up using what I had on hand. I mixed Tamiya X2 white with XF-19 sky grey at roughly a 4:1 ratio. This is my first NASCAR build and it may not be 100% accurate, but the end result is a very light grey.
  8. Hi NASCAR modeling experts, I'm currently building the Revell Fusion kit and have ordered a set of Powerslide decals for Kevin Harvicks 2017 Mobil 1 livery. https://www.mikesdecals.com/mobil-kevin-harvick-2017-ford-fusion-powerslide-271-p-4876.html I'd like to model the car he drove to victory at Sonoma, but I'm not entirely sure what I need to change to accurately represent the car in road course spec. https://www.motorsport.com/nascar-cup/photos/main-gallery/?d=360&sz=9&r=158017&s=-6&oft=47&p=2 The body has been painted in a white basecoat and is about to be masked off for the red. As far as I know this is what needs to be changed: Cut down the rear spoiler Lower the ride height. Remove the driver escape 'hatch', but the car has already been painted so it's too late for that... Add the front splitter. Add 'tape' to the grille? Is there anything else I'm missing? I'm not overly concerned about it being 100% accurate as this is my first attempt at a NASCAR kit, but your input/feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!
  9. The owner of decals4all.eu is printing them for me. PM me if you want more info.
  10. Ignore. I have found what I was looking for!
  11. Bump: The company I had contacted has been unresponsive. I still need the #3 decals with the red background, the white windscreen banner, and also the driver decals that appear on the roof, specifically Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen, and Mike Rockenfeller as per the 2016 24 hours of Daytona. I can obtain the #3 decals and white windscreen banner from the Scale Motorsport full carbon jacket decal set OR from Patto's (Both are around $30 but Patto's decals are in 1/24 scale), but I'd still be missing the driver name decals. Patto's doesn't have the above names on any of their sheets as far as I can tell. Does anybody know of a source that has these decals, or could print them? I would normally try Speedway decals but they're not doing any more custom orders.
  12. I've decided to tackle one of the newer Revell NASCAR kits, specifically the Ford Fusion Danica kit. The instructions indicate the chassis should be flat white while other builds and reference photos show it as a light gray. Is there a Tamiya equivalent that I could use? I have quite a lot of Tamiya grays including Sky Gray, which I think might be a close match, but I'd like to hear your opinions and advice. Thanks!
  13. Nicely done! What color did you use for the red trim? I just started the Danica kit (first NASCAR build in 15 years) and would like to attempt this livery.
  14. Bummer! Mainly 1/20 Tamiya F1 kits, 1/24 Tamiya sportscars, 1/25 and 1/24 Revell sportscars, and sometimes dabble in 1/25 classic american/muscle cars.
  15. Unfortunately not! We were busy all day and I wasn't able to find the time to attend. Are there pics of the swap meet anywhere?
  16. Nice! I'll be there. Interesting, I'm also in 15235.
  17. Nice builds! I've been on the lookout for the FW24 kit. I've always loved that car...
  18. I'm building a 1976 Greenwood GT C3 Corvette for a client however the base kit doesn't have any decals. This is the car I am replicating: http://dev.thelingenfeltercollection.com/1976-greenwood-gt-c3-corvette/ As you can see there is a Greenwood logo on the B pillars and wheels, a red background double flag logo on the hood and rear deck lid, as well as a "Corvette" between the rear tail lights. Maybe there are photo etch options available? Multiple google searches have yielded no results. Thanks!
  19. Nicely done. Is this the Revell kit? Did you clear over the decals?
  20. Thanks! I was able to contact the company in my original post, and he was able to size down the #3 number decals to 1/25 for a nominal fee.
  21. Hi all, I'm going to be building the 1/25 Revell Corvette C7.R for a client. He specifically requested I build him the #3 car, however the Revell decals only have markings for the #4 car. I found slot car decals for the #3 car however they're 1/24 scale and might be slightly oversized; http://www.decals4all.eu/presta/en/gt-based/239-corvette-c7r-number-3-.html Does anybody here happen to know of a source for the #3 decals? The only difference between the #3 and #4 cars are the number decals (obviously), and the #3 car has a white windshield stripe rather than black. All the other decals/markings are identical. Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the info! I will probably enter my builds in the AM and come back later before the show is over to pick them up.
  23. Looks like it's curbside, no engine detail. As long as the price is right...
  24. Just relocated to Pittsburgh and will be entering two or three models, the third being a Corvette C7.R that is nearing completion. What time are the models judged? I don't plan on being there for too long and don't want to miss the judges. Looking forward to it!
