Cobra Daytona Coupe in plastic.
gbdolfans replied to Steve D.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
when I went to the link, all it had was aircraft. When I got to the last page of a/c.,it caused my Firefox to crash. Thanks -
 OK Harry,I went with real on this one and this is why. You are so good with Photoshop and selecting these for us,I can't tell what this is,RoM. Instead,I went with reasoning, this is so ugly,I couldn't think of any of us modelers that would spend time building this.I know my time is better spent building and browsing here.
-
Rise and shine Harry!!! :P I voted real on this one this AM.Before you posted if it was RoM. Heck,I posted this probably hours before you even you had your coffee. I went with real because the crack in the back looks scale to me. I am surprised George53 didn't mention this as he is an expert in this!!

Joining The Ranks Of Non-Smokers
gbdolfans replied to envious8420's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Jim, Good luck in this. There are many advantages to stop smoking. You save money to use on models, food starts to taste much better, and your wife will enjoy kissing you more!! You have to be careful with the food part as because it tastes better, you eat more and tend to gain weight. I have never smoked, but my wife did for many years. One day, about 15 years ago, she just quit cold turkey. She said it started to make her sick when she smoked. I can attest to the rest of it Hope this helps, and if you need to talk about it, just let me know. George -

gbdolfans replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hey John, This is stunning!!! One of the best FC I have seen. Are you sure you didn't take pics of the real one and are fooling us!!! Just kidding. Hey Harry, you could use pic #2 for ROM.I actually think I can see the rear slick slightly bulging in pic2. Thank you John for sharing this with us and please post more!!! -
Wow - As Seen On Ebay
gbdolfans replied to Crazy Ed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I sent them a question about this. They probably just entered the incorrect price when they listed it. They are a pretty good company and have a very good feedback. If they get the question, the price will hopefully be set right.I think the price should be $22.00,not$2200.00. I sell on Ebay and have done it myself. -
Hey Greg, What a great upgrade to our forum!!!It looks fantastic and I will be spending some time today looking it over.My wife has to work today and I am off. I am a member of another forum that upgraded? several weeks ago and it is terrible.I can tell someone spent a lot of time and effort on this and it shows!!! This is so nice, that,as soon as the first rolls around,I an going to subscribe to the mag.I used to buy it at Model Mania here in Asheville,NC but the guy moved up north. The only other LHS is struggling and this christmas may be a make or break time. Sorry for the ramble, but,I am bored today and probably go work on my builds.

I went with real on this. I think it is the glass that does it for me. If it is a model,it is very nice.

Best Way To Clean Sable Brushes Used in Acrylic
gbdolfans replied to Bruce Poage's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Hey guys, When I use acrylics, I clean them with an item found at any craft store called "Pink Soap" It is used to clean brushes and it does not dry out the bristles.Alcohol dries out the brushes and the natural oils in the brush. My wife is an artist and she helps me with things like this and choosing colors. When you use acrylics, as soon as you are done, rinse it with water, then the soap, working it with fingers and then rinsing it with water. The soap is used for cleaning, protecting and preserving the bristles. Check it out. George -

Different perspective on Reliable
gbdolfans replied to Bridgebuster's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi Guys,I have been dealing with customers and the public for more years than most of you kids have been on planet Earth. I am talking 40+ years.( OLD FART ALERT). As Yoda said in Star Wars,or close to it,You either do or don't do, there is no try. If you are selling to someone, you need to get the product to the customer ASAP or do not sell anything. I know there are going to be delays from time to time but, that should be very rare. I makes me shake my head when sellers constantly come up with excuses. -

Hi guys and gals, I wanted to give a shout out for a great trader. He is Walter Stuart - aka- bigdaddyfan. We worked out a deal of kits for my Detail Master parts and he came through like a champ. He sent me the kits I asked for as well as a surprise in the box. This was shipped quickly and by Priority Mail and I got it in a couple of days.I nthis day of reading about bad traders,it is nice to know that there are good people out there still.I am looking forward to building these and am very glad I traded with this person. Anyone who wants to trade with him, I would not hesitate to do so.He also has some great kits for sale. Thanks Again Walter, George Bluhm

Hey guys, I keep seeing an ad on tv for Frog Tape.It is supposed to be available in most home improvment stores. They say when you use it, it forms a barrier that keeps masking edges sharp and no bleed under. Has anyone used this and is it any good. If it works as said, it would be great for masking.

Hi Harry, I went with real on this one.Something about the lighting, and, something about the steering wheel.
-
Harry, you can't be held responsible for something that happened a long time ago. I,for one, would love a "what is it",from time to time.Maybe do one every 3 weeks to give our little brains a rest from ROM.

Hi Chuck, Very nice!!!!I remember seeing Pat Foster driving for Barry in West palm beach,Fla. The engine let go and blew the body 50 feet in the air.

Hi Chuck, Great looking build. What is a vacation???

$24.00 Monogram '32 Ford kit ?
gbdolfans replied to Pete L.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey guys, At least our kits are still cheaper than the modelers that build aircraft and armor. I was at my LHS and was surprised at those prices.Aircraft was $35-60,armor $40-70. These are high prices,so,we still have great value in our auto kits. When you stop and think about it for value, how many hours of enjoyment do you get out of a kit??If it takes you 20 hours to finish it, ,even including the cost of paint,etc... it is a great value for us. I have no problem paying the slightly higher prices for kits,as the model companies will bring out more new and reissued kits. That is good for all of us.
