  1. I'm with Doc, great details so far, that hood latch/striker plate is beautiful!! What did you use for the washer bottle hose and clamps on the fender well?
  2. The Torino doesn't look half bad in the pics Fred, are you going to strip her and repaint?
  3. Doug, this is impressive as hell so far, just the spoke hubcaps are enough to make me drool, the trim and skirts are just a bonus! I can't wait to watch the other mods happen!
  4. Charles, for only your second model, you're doing great. And as far as accuracy, if you like the way it looks, sometimes that's the best way to go. Getting bogged down in the "super accurate" stuff can be a real pain sometimes, so don't sweat it, it's your model, and you build it to make yourself happy. Now I'm heading over to see the completed product!
  5. Got any pics of Frankenstang so we know what you're shooting for?
  6. Nice start Jeff, are you going for the Factory-Stock look, or something wilder?
  7. Nice choice, I'll be watching for sure!
  8. What's not to like, it's beautifully detailed, clean as a whistle, and it's a MOPAR!!!
  9. I just finished off one of these kits myself David, went with a 440+6 though. It's a good kit, but doing the foil work on the windows is a real pain, there's just not much there to follow. What color do you have planned for it?
  10. Chris, I thought the engine was incredible, then I saw the interior..that's some pretty work man! What size tubing did you use for that roll cage? Oh, and I love the flange at the bottom of the tubing, that's a nice little touch I don't believe I've ever seen anyone add!
  11. Great work on the Stig's arms, he's gotta be gripping that wheel! And are you gonna give the Stig a mirrored visor? He's gotta have a mirrored visor! I love the brake rotors, those should look incredible in the rims!
  12. Michael, I bought these as an aftermarket set of rims/tires from a hobby shop in Jacksonville, NC. I believe they were made by American Satco (But I'm not 100% positive of who made them, just that they were a set of rims/tires only) about a decade ago, they may have been from those kits prior to that though, I wouldn't know, as I've never heard of 'em myself! I also got a set of slotted rims with the same tires (At the same time), I used those on a '32 Highboy. Justin, neither of those models were polished, that stuff lays down smooth as glass straight from the airbrush! I used some Mequiars #7 to bring the blazing shine out on both of them, but no polishing kit was used on either one. BTW, Great work on the Corvette emblem, and a great solution, gotta start sharpening some toothpicks!
  13. Great work so far, I've always wanted to build one of the monsters, but just don't have anywhere to put it once it's finished! Justin, there's no reason not to use them for the body, you just need a good clear coat to protect them. I've painted two with Model Master Acryl, and was extremely happy with the results!
  14. Alyn, little piece of foil/styrene on the dash is just beautiful, I believe you made up for not being able to foil the interior just with the dash work. That is one beautiful interior, too bad it's not a convertible.... And you know me, too loud is not an option, louder is better in my book. But that color will be anything but loud, it should look just right!
  15. Great start Chris, and it's gonna be a killer color to boot!
  16. Great start Keke, your work on the interior is beautiful! The color in that picture looks a lot like House Of Kolors Tangelo, I love anything in that color!
  17. I used the chassis from AMT's '70 Super Bee Pro-Street on mine. I had to chop a section out of the center, and rework the back end, but it did fit...eventually!
  18. I've done one like this Kaleb, but used a 426 Hemi in it. Keep at it, and don't sweat the "reality" factor, just have fun. Mine doesn't have a roll cage, so you've already gone further than I did!
  19. Look for Mike, he's almost always on the left side of the store, but he's off on Thursdays. The RC guys in there will give you that look until they get to know you. Heck, I've been going there for nearly a decade and they still look at me funny. Maybe it's because I don't but their expensive toys, who knows. Mike carries a bit of flocking, but you'd do better getting it from Hobby Lobby or Michaels, it's cheaper there too.
  20. Get a cheap one at Wally World, it'll do fine. Should run you about $30 tops, no need to get fancy and get a thermostat and all that fancy stuff.
  21. Welcome Richard, looks like you haven't lost your skills, that's some nice work!
  22. I always loved the look of the Laguna, I take it you're using the Model King re-issue?
  23. I'm working on one of these myself John, but I'm going with the straight six and a ton of detailing, kind of a low-budget hot-rod shop truck. All I've gotten done so far is the chassis, a few tiny mods to the cab, and a full wood bed. From there it's just a bunch of detailing just for fun! I'll be watching to see yours come together, maybe it'll inspire me to get moving on mine! I love the slammed look on yours, I may go that route on mine now!
  24. Matt, does the Stig approve of a curbside? So are you planning on adding an engine to it, or just detailing the heck out of whatever thry have that resembles the engine?
  25. Beautiful work Erik, the foil work looks flawless, the under-hood detail is nicely done, and the paint makes it stand out. Top-notch work sir! One question though, what did you use for the antennas and curb feelers, they look perfectly in scale!
