  1. I have the AMT unbuild. It seems okay.
  2. I agree, there's hundreds of comments on these pics and many of them say that they asked to buy the car only to be told, "Nope, I'm gonna restore it someday." Or were told a price so high, "because it's a real '67 fastback" and they saw one go for big money on some TV show. It's pretty ridiculous.
  3. Yeah, that site has been a resource for me for many years. It will also make you cry.
  4. I was reading the Weathering Vol 4 thread and thread originator mentioned how the models finish was damaged and he decided to weather the model rather than repaint. This made me smile because I've done something similar here recently and I wonder how often does this happen? If this has happened to you post 'em up and tell us what happened. In my case a reaction between paint and clear caused some nasty crazing but it looked very close to old 1:1 paint cracking due to age. So I got out some acrylics and began the weathering. The model was going to have minimal weathering and just a nice suede finish.
  5. That is a little work of art! And though I understand why you would not want to run the boat, it seems a shame non-the-less.
  6. Loving this.
  7. For me the big red flag was when they used a photo of the real car or an illustrated picture. That had buyer-beware written all over it. I think that little piece of wisdom was passed to me from my dad.
  8. Nice work on that go-cart JIm. Nice to see you remembered the brakes.
  9. Love it! It has a great authentic look to it.
  10. This is really amazing work. You can't call it model building, it's model creating.
  11. Very imaginative. Keep at it.
  12. I really like this one. Folks are building phantoms all the time. Why not a phantom Mach 5? Well done.
  13. Wow. That Opel will be added to my collection.
  14. Yep, trading parts will more likely be trading 3-D images.
  15. Amazing. You do so much in such a little time. And it never looks rushed. My hat is off to you.
  16. Very solid work. I do like the design.
  17. As long as the trunk doesn't leak, it should look brand new, right? Or try a dust of grey primer and then smear the paint so it doesn't look like its been painted. That's how I did the tires in my trailer.
  18. Whoa! Stop the presses! Jason, most would prefer an afternoon with a KGB interrogation squad than tackle that kit. Welcome to the club!
  19. 88%. Not bad for a fella born in '68.
  20. Wow. I like that a lot.
  21. In my case was, there was a rather interested fellow packing stuff in the same room. He asked questions, offered compliments etc etc. One box of completed models (my earliest stuff) didn't arrive in St. Louis. The military gave me the going rate for a model kit per lost model.
  22. Hmm.......Mr. Camaro and Ms. Ferrari got a little drunk one night and 9 months later we get this. I think they should have tried for something unique rather than do what all the rest if the kids are doing. That's all I'll say. Not impressed.
  23. Looking forward to this.
