  1. Eh what?
  2. This one? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=71+GTO&_sacat=2580&_odkw=&_osacat=2580&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
  3. My point exactly. Perhaps I didn't go into a lot of detail in my post, but this isn't the sort of thing I was talking about. Specialty information like, " Where was the e-brake cable run on the 1967 Whatever SS" or "Whats the best glue to use for resin parts?" I was talking about simple what, where, when questions athat we see everyday from people. Usually from the newer members.
  4. Wheels...........not so much. There are usually a few options that I would be happy with. Stance? Oh yeah, that's a major design issue for me. As well as getting that stance and still having the model look mechanically correct.
  5. Mini-rant here. I've seen an awful lot of where-can-I-gets and anyone-got-a-pic-of and who-sells-this threads lately. I know we have an awful lot of people here who have probably been there/done that on the topic at hand, but a five minute Google search will likely find you what you're looking for. If you are lazy enough to not even try to find the info yourself, this probably isn't the hobby for you.
  6. I certainly wasn't suggesting that! just that this is going to turn into a CBP thread anyway so..................................
  7. Can't wait to see more.
  8. Some really good work going on here. Very cool.
  9. Well it's gotta make you feel good when two builders as skilled as Ken and Jim take the time to do something like that for you. I looks terrific.
  10. Virgil, I think you really aught to just create a CBP and then sit back and watch the action. The same for the Revell 48.
  11. Some washes of acrylic craft paints are a great place to start and very forgiving if you over-do it. Add some baking soda to the wet paints if you want some texture for wheel well dirt accumulation and/or rust.
  12. Try here as well. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/ As for what you can pull off with your skill. Skills don't improve unless you challenge yourself. Get an idea of what you want to do and go for it. A shop truck sounds good and not much body work involved. If it's techniques you are unsure of, we have techniques coming out our ears here. Just ask. We got a whole section of "How do I?" dedicated to that.
  13. Good info, thanks very much.
  14. I have been using a real nice filler 3M Acryl-Blue glazing putty. Unfortunately I just threw away about 1lb of a 1lb, 5oz tube that I paid $35 for. I don't use a lot so it dried up after about 5 years. I don't do a lot of body work. I don't care for it. So I don't like the red Bond-o stuff and the Squadron stuff is rubbish. So what are my options for long term shelf life. Two part filler? Any brand name recommendations?
  15. Thanks guys. Good advice.
  16. Name this Tire. We'll call him Bruce.
  17. Okay but to do that the decal has to be pretty set in place. Will a setting solution get the cut ends to lay flat in the crease and adhere?
  18. Guys how do you usually lay decals over door gaps? Just lay it across, use some setting solution, and just push it into the crease? Or cut the decal at the door gap and start again on the other side?
  19. That sounds cool Art. That would make for a particularly long vehicle too.
  20. So you took about three mills out of the middle? Below the beltline? So you reduced the height of the wheel openings. This makes the wheel openings look more to scale. The change is so very subtle. My biggest issue with modern mopars is the huge wheel openings. The guys with the dubs love it, but with stock wheels it looks terrible. Nice work.
  21. KIT CARS! Whether they were cool or supremely cheesy, these VW powered creations could bring the exotic into any middle class garage. I had a neighbor as a kid that had a Manta kit car. I loved riding in that thing. What a head turner.
  22. I have an EasyShare that is only 5 megapix, so probably a little older than yours. Are you using the macro function? You didn't mention that in your post.
  23. I got a sorta-started-and-then-stored-for-20-years Boot Hill Express in a trade with a co-worker. Several missing pieces but it looks like the hearse parts are still there. So here's my idea - stay with the hot rod hearse show rod theme. Add a Model A roadster pick-up cab or maybe a c-cab from the Tom Daniels beer truck. Use the engine from the Express in the front, some white wall slicks from the new AMT pack. A tombstone shaped front grill. And of course the hearse section behind the cab. I'd love to hear some additional ideas from the rogues gallery here. Sort of a modeling think-tank so to speak. And no...............it's not available for trade.
