  1. Guys. I do appreciate the great info. I do plan on building this as a custom and as it has been said, art trumps engineering in this case. It will be something like what Tonio did (which is magnificent by the way).
  2. Oh man that's nice Nick. Great authentic look. Well done.
  3. Gibson makes a hemi with one and they are available elsewhere in resin as well. I've never seen one in a kit. A four second Google search revealed.......... http://www.ebay.com/...D-/160617441647 http://jbhobbies.freewebspace.com/photo_30.html
  4. I dunno George. This one's got me confuzzled.
  5. Yeah, I figured. The gas cap looked a little too cut/paste to be real. Nope. My dog hasn't yet mastered Photoshop. Still working on teaching her CAD.
  6. Hmm..........of all the GM stuff I have, the chassis from the AMT 70 Impala fits best.
  7. As I said, just copy the IMG code below you photo, into the reply box.
  8. Seriously or you yanking our collective chains?
  9. From your Photobucket. Copy the IMG code and paste it into the reply field here on the forums. Easy.
  10. Great info Art. Thanks very much.
  11. Valid points. I hear every word you guys are saying, and I appreciate the input. But if you know anything about me and my models, it's got to be unique. Fear not I will figure something out.
  12. I have a great untouched Johan 63 Starfire kit, that was one of my favorites as a kid. I want to build it, but as of yet haven't a clue how. We've got a terrible chassis, mediocre engine and a god-awful interior bucket. However the body and the chrome -- nearly perfect. I've talked to other modelers about accurate donor cars and the consensus is - there isn't one. I'm sure some of you have done one of these, what did you do to it? Pics, descriptions, ideas, hallucinations, all welcome. I'm not concerned with accuracy. I'm going to build it as a custom anyway. I'm just picking your brains. So lets run this up a flagpole and see who salutes.
  13. Okay guys, I've yet to get into airbrushing, but I have one and it's on my to-do list, to get my building to the next level. I WANT to be able to paint like Zed. But I am confused as to paint types. I know there are many paint types, but I know little about them apart from drying times. There are.... Enamels Acrylics Lacquers Acrylic Enamels Acrylic Lacquers and I know there are some others in the auto paint realm that I cannot recall. Can someone in the know please give us a break down on these paint? What they are based on (water, solvents, etc). And how they are found (airbrush/rattle can/auto paints, etc.). Also I have seen several threads these days about which company sells better paint, MCW/ScaleFinishes/HOK, and there seems to be a general disagreement about the types of paint they use. Lastly, I live in Florida. Which means humidity is a factory 24/7/365 and for the forseeable future I will NOT have access to an indoor paint booth. So I would like someone to recommend an airbrush paint type and brand that they have had good luck with painting in humid conditions. Sorry to ask so much, but I think it would behoove us to get this information straight and perhaps get a sticky on it, rather than rehash it every time someone like me wants to paint like Zed.
  14. I love how humble this guy is. "Attempt", he says. Awesome work Zed, as usual.
  15. Wow. I really am enjoying this thread. I hope you've got some great graphics in mind for this. Edit. I've always thought of the third gen vettes as the "shark" body style. After all they were patterned after the Mako Shark II. So considering the size of this beast...................maybe paint it in the grey over white of a great white shark. Add some graphic "gills" where the vette vents (vette vents?) would go? And then some cool GREAT WHITE graphics? Use Discovery Channel as a sponsor. Just rambling.
  16. I really do like this. It would be equally at home on a cruise or trearing up the quarter on a Saturday night. Well done.
  17. Great work. But am I the only one what thinks this needs to be painted yellow and sponsored by Chiquita?
  18. Waitasechangonwhatjusthappened...............did we change the club name?
