  1. I read somewhere..... that there are more 57 Chevy's registered in California now, than were ever built in 1957 ! I too am tired of the same old Camero's and 32's. I use to have an old Cadillac hearse that I took to car shows all the time. ( 2002 - to - 2010 ) And I got "SICK AND TIRED" of the winning car's ALWAY'S being Camero's and Nova's ( out of 100 or so car's at any given event 75 would be Camero's and Nova's!) I never cared if I won or lost...... I just cant stand losing to "The lowest common denominator! I will NEVER build a Camero.......unless it's a rust bucket!
  2. Nice job !!!! I foggily remember building this kit wwwaaayyy back in the day. I had a terrible time getting the vinyl lines to curve around to where they were supposed to go. The whole thing turned out like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH...... so I shot it with an entire brick (144) bottle rocket's. Fast forward to now and I want to slap myself silly for destroying something worth way more than I paid for it. I like you're version a lot better !!!!!
  3. Thank to all for the warm welcome ! ( Speaking of warm.... I'm still working on my Arizona tan / burn.)
  4. Finally ! A History class I did'nt fall asleep in. Thank you for sharing this. I get it.
  5. Did anybody get the plate number off the Jeep that rear-ended me?????
  6. I save almost all of mine. Sprue come's in handy for scratch building funny car frames, roll cage's, ect. ect. The chromed stuff becomes custom bumpers and grill's. Also use sprue for paint stand's........ This is an H.O. scale work car/ water tender with homade sprue parts all over it. ( Some of the tools in the barrel, the ladder rungs and that "pile " of junk in the middle. ) Sorry. It's hard to see but the windshield has been made to open ( just like the real thing ) using spru for the frame. I would show you more uses but I tend to go on and on and.......................
  7. Yea..... the wife and I figured if the world come's to an end it's only a 5 minute walk to South America.
  8. He's going to have to....... It was the original issue of the AMT 32 vicky from the early 60's. I had a LOT of friends who almost died of shock when I "CUT" into that collector's gem ! Still occasionally use parts from that kit....... I'm using the gas tank from it on my current build. Mother's worry.
  9. I did something very similar. I took the same body and combined it with AMT's Hippy Hemi...... but I left the rear wheels in their original spot and extended the roll cage out the back. I also cut a slot in the stock windshield for the blower, and used the stock grill and radiator shell all the way up front. I called it "The Long Shot" I gave it to a neighbor's kid to inspire him ( he is 8 ) but I think it was a wasted effort....... video games rule his world. Awesome job. Makes me want to build another one !
  10. Just found this thread and.................... Sorry. I fainted. Tell the truth.........you're taking full size real car part's and putting them in some sort of "miniaturizing machine" aint ya???? That's the ONLY explanation I can wrap my mind around...... ( otherwise it means I have been using rocks and twigs for the past 40 years.) Let me know when you add the gas....... I want to see it run the "Scale Quarter Mile"
  11. Those colors just scream, DON'T MESS WITH ME ! Nice job on the paint. I will be following along to see the final result.
  12. Yes it would be nice if company's could get a better feel for what the modeling world wants. My "wish list" is just too long and too obscure to accommodate me. ( Although Round 2 is re-releasing some classic kit's I doubt we will see all the early 60's kits we miss.) Company's also have to find the middle ground between beginners ( low cost / easy assembly ) and veteran builders ( Every detail / option / higher part's count. ) I would HAPPILY pay $ 40 to $50 to see Jo Han's Haulin Hearse...... but I would probably be the only one. So that wont help a company's bottom line. But since EVERYBODY want's a 69 Camero.... well...... that's what companies turn out. It's safe so they will make their investment back.
  13. Thanks guys...... I will try to check in here at least every few days. You know how life/ the wife gets in the way sometimes.
