  1. Thanks Bob! Yes, that color was "vital" in the Chevy range back then!
  2. Thanks Anders and Jeremy, much appreciated!
  3. Thanks Tom, much appreciated!
  4. Just what I was about to say! And I really like the weathering on those models.
  5. Thanks guys, much appreciated. Thanks! To be honest, I bought the kit second-hand and the pre-owner must have added them to the kit's wheels...
  6. Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it! Thanks Lee. The cranks... a mate of mine gave me a bagful of spare parts for die cast models which he had gathered over the years, to check if there was anything useful in it for me. Turned out that there were some nice parts in it, like these cranks, exterior mirrors etc. ?
  7. Thanks Cliff! Yes, I think there are some "trademark" details on the front part of the car which have to be considered. The rubber gasket certainly is of them!
  8. Sure thing, Craig. The perfect alibi! ?
  9. Very nice build! I like them Olds‘ in Aztec Gold. Nice stance and wheels too. Just one question, as you went for the W30 option, shouldn‘t the inner fenders be painted in red?
  10. Hi guys, another restoration of a pretty rare kit. I bought this on eBay and made the best of it that I could. The kit's front valance is lacking a lot of details which I tried to improve on, using my humble skills... This is how it turned out:
  11. That license plate looks familiar... Bond, James Bond... I was 8 or 9 years old when I watched "The Spy who loved me" in the cinema. So you'd imagine this car made a great impression on me back then, and it still does. Your build is a great model of that car! Btw, I really hope someone will do the '81 Esprit turbo kit someday, too. Maybe Hasegawa...?
  12. Thanks for your feedback guys, I appreciate it! Thanks Francis! This was the only color combo available. To my knowledge, only about 700 TA's of this gen Firebird have been built. Probably because the TA cost a considerable premium of 725 USD at the time. As regards the kit, I never liked the looks of the front grille too much on built models I saw. But then I stumbled upon images of a nice TA built by Sean Svendsen (http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/69_pontiac_trans_am_page.html) and I decided that white was the body color to go with. The contrast with the front grille is more subtle that way. And as the blue TA stripes were included in my kit, I went for the TA aswell. Actually, the hardest piece of work on this model was to open the Ram air intakes and to make the panel lines that were missing around those intakes, free-hand. Not perfect, but turned out okay on the final result, I think.
  13. Thanks for your kind feedback, Carl!
  14. Hi Ludwig, I agree with all the complements here, this build is just outstanding!
  15. Lovely little truck, great all over!
  16. Touching story indeed and a lovely T-Bird!
  17. This is very cool, I like it. Great idea and work on this "Cob-Rod"!
  18. Very nice model and great choice of colors and wheels. The vinyl texture appears to be a bit to "rough" to me, but it may be the pictures. Stunning details on the engine, just lovely!
  19. Nice model and indeed, a rare sight! For those seeking a kit, maybe the Hasegawa (1972) kit is an option. It's much easier to find for certain. I have this in my stash, but did not build it yet. From the parts and instructions pictures, it looks pretty decent though: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10037739
  20. Thanks Lee, I appreciate your compliment!
