  1. So what's the problem for 9.99 US? Described as junkyard. No harm, no foul. Diorama or parts.
  2. I like that. Good extrapolation of Ford's "performance" packaging at the time. Just right. JoHan Pro Stock as a start?
  3. You guys are too kind! Thanks. Here a link to my build album for this model. A few more pics there. I know I should take a few more but I was anxious to get the build posted! https://public.fotki.com/bigfordpilot/my_built_model_cars/built_models/in_progress/amt-40-ford-coupe/
  4. Many thanks again everyone! I really appreciate the comments and discussion. I'm very glad that my builds can provoke the fond memories some of you describe,,as they do me!
  5. No drama for me to share. Put me in the "lucky guy" category. Mrs. FordRodnKustom fully supports my automotive obsession both 1:1 and scale. A new major appliance every now and then helps a lot too!
  6. Thanks Pete. I used Testor's Model Master Classic Black from the can decanted and sprayed out with my trusty old Paasche VL. I used a polishing kit in some places on the body to remove some dust nits and then the whole thing was buffed.
  7. LOL! Thanks Dennis.
  8. Yup, that one too running a close second for me. Can't have too many.
  9. Thanks all! I appreciate the positive comments.
  10. Thnx Bruce.
  11. Here's my latest build, finished up this morning. It's done as a vintage original issue box/instruction art build. This is the first kit I remember ever having and is without a doubt my all time favorite. That picture of the competition coupe on the instruction sheet set the hook deep and for good. Neither side is 100% faithful to the art as some compromises had to be made. Overall a fun build and it looks good in with my growing collection of these type of builds. I know this type of build is considered very simplistic by some and not worthy of a second look but they sure are fun to do and very satisfying to see finished.....at least for me! Thanks for looking. Comments and discussion always welcome and invited.
  12. Just for historical reference here is the box art from the original 1st issue of the kit. It was called "Salt Shaker" then.
  13. I guessing that will be the case, without adding the old custom stuff. Either way it will be interesting to see what they do with it. 1st issue Pepper Shaker Second issue Pepper Shaker
  14. Wonder if the 'Shaker will have any of the original custom parts restored?
  15. LOL Well, I'm definitely to old to know everything.
  16. Cool. Thanks for the info.
  17. Same here Bill. My Grandfather had a new '56 Buick Special that he took real good care of. I remember "helping" him Simoniz it(the old hard paste wax stuff). He was actually teaching me about cars and when we went for a drive while I was watching those chrome blade spokes on the steering wheel glint in the sun he taught me how to tell the difference between a Buick, Chevy, Ford, etc. Been hooked on cars ever since, Been 60 year love affair so far. Sure wish there was a '56 Buick in scale.
  18. Unmarked P-71s
  19. I can see the pic in both Glenn's post and In Xingu's quote. An AMT Deuce 5 window drag coupe.
  20. Outstanding! Very authentic details. Just an impressive build all around. Well done.
  21. Works. I see the tail of a Alabama ANG F 16
  22. Guess the fronts were painted like that at times to check if they were off the ground during the run?
