  1. For the longest time my #1 was the Sport Coupe But I recently acquired one (thanks Steve!)and am in the process of restoring it so...... Moving into the #1 slot would be one of these, in mint boxed condition
  2. Nice work. Thanks for saving a classic.
  3. Not sure if this is crazy but here goes.
  4. Agreeing with Bernard here......the '49 chassis is the better starting point of the two.
  5. I picked up a T today. I like the frame, Lincoln mill and running gear in that kit.
  6. Thanks all! I thought that custom tail panel was just enough 60's jet/space age crazy to be cool today and in keeping with the '60s vibe I was going for. Glad I was able to get those custom parts. Thanks Les! Glad ya'll enjoyed seeing the Merc.
  7. Finally finished this one up. Not my best but not my worst for sure. This thing fought me every step of the way and I'm glad it's done and on the shelf. I learned a lot from it. I started out with this eBay glue bomb. I used the rare original kit custom parts on it and many thanks to Les Gibbens for those! Here it is finished..warts 'n all. As always comments and discussion welcome. Thanks for checking the old Merc out! If interested you can see more in my build album here: https://public.fotki.com/bigfordpilot/my_built_model_cars/built_models/in_progress/62-merc-convertible-2/
  8. Much better! Nice work.
  9. Great box art on that issue. Much cooler than this one I think.
  10. This grail landed today from the UK from great trader Steve Grantham. Looks all complete except for the air cleaners, intake, steering wheel, tail lights and one head light lens. Already in the strip tank. I see a new box art style resto rebuild in my future. Thanks Steve!
  11. Steve Grantham. Great trader! Thanks Steve!
  12. Fascinating . Has a real retro futuristic purposeful look to it. The addition of the extra widgets works well. Very, very cool!
  13. Stunning, absolutely stunning. That sir is true modeling craftsmanship. Take a bow, well done!
  14. I always limit my ebay activity to USA only. Overseas predators and criminals eliminated. Never had any problems since I started doing that and I have been using the 'bay for about 20 years.
  15. Same here. I don't think models are big on Micheal's list. Mostly art & crafts, picture framing and fake plants and flowers. Next time I need beading supplies I'll go there(never)LOL. To be fair though they do have clear casting resin kits which is good to cast head and tail lights, which I have bought and done. I only bought that stuff on their 40% coupon but now they hold you hostage for your email address to get a coupon. I refuse.
  16. I guess for me it would be this one. I didn't keep track of the numbers but I know I spent more that I should have on glue bombs to get the parts I needed for this restoration and to get it where I wanted it. If I had to throw a number out I'd say somewhere between 80-100.
  17. All great but I love the Motion King Cobra. Too bad about that 300 SL though. Thanks for the great pics.
  18. OK Steve and I like to drive my Cobra in such a way that is way beyond the average inattentive SUV driver but I sure won't consider myself a a Pro driver either. I get it. In the title is the word "junkyard". To my way of thinking it's obvious that what's there "needs rebuilding".
  19. Yes I get that Bill and well said. I just feel that most of us in the hobby are smart enough to look past a word in the title and see exactly what's there and make a decision accordingly. Am I being too generous in this assumption? Quality is still out there.
  20. Welcome back from another Fox owner!
  21. Looks great so far. You nailed the orange color. Aside from the Dew Buick with Jr. I feel this was DW's best ride with Hendrick racing. Looking forward to seeing this one finished
