  1. Steve, How did you end up with the starter on the left side of the engine? I thought that you were using the engine from the Revell '41 Willys... On mine, the starter is on the right side... Either way, the whole build is looking GREAT!! Thanks for sharing,
  2. Looking good, Jeff!! All of the detail work is top notch, as usual!! Later,
  3. You think that you had trouble with the tin calling you? I've got it in stereo with two of them calling me!! And...I've got the new '25 T kit sitting on top of them calling me, too! I have got to stop buying so many models!! I'll never live long enough to build all of them. Later,
  4. Both builds look fine, Dave!! Keep up the good work and keep posting!! Later,
  5. Cool '55, Neal!! Nothing quite like a 409 to get things moving!! Thanks for the magazine!! I finally got a chance to look through it yesterday. Later,
  6. It sounds like you know exactly what you need to do to get the side panels to fit!! (Come up a little in the back and down a little in the front)... It looks like this one is on the home stretch!! Later,
  7. Welcome, Dave!! Jump right in and start posting questions and pictures of your builds!! Later,
  8. Good job, Donnie!! Who won Best of Show and with what model? Thanks, Kevin! How are you doing in school?
  9. How was the show, Donnie? Did you win any awards? Later,
  10. Hey Bernard, This one is coming along nicely!! So, your trusty old bodyman friend is here to help you with the hood fit problems. The problem is the radiator shell is too high (or maybe the cowl is too low). This pic shows a slight gap between the bottom of the radiator shell and the top of the frame. Bring the radiator shell down just a little bit and the sides will fit much better. Later,
  11. OK...this time I'm really done with the body mods...it's prime time for this beast!! I added a bit more material to the lower leading edges of the rear fenders to help the visual alignment between the altered running boards and the rear splash pan that I extended. BEFORE: AFTER: The rear of the frame, (and the exhaust tips), will actually sit higher up into the body when tthe frame is glued to the body. Well, it's finally time for some primer, a little putty to smooth over the mods and paint!! Later,
  12. Very cool stuff!! The detail work looks GREAT!! How long is it? Thanks for sharing,
  13. Very slick!! Or is that very sleek?! Either way, very nice!! Thanks for sharing,
  14. I like the body mods!! The paint finish looks great, too! Thanks for sharing,
  15. Here's the link to the 50 Chevy truck that I'm building: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22265&hl=raul&st=0 Here's about how far along it is: Here's the one it's replacing: Later,
  16. I've lost enough parts over the years to build a complete model!! With one of the more recent parts that I lost, I had to buy another kit on eBay to get a replacement...and to add to the aggravation, it was on a model that I was building for someone else for free!! Ahhh!!! Sometimes the great modeling gods are evil!! Now where did that little photo etched part I was just working with get off to??? Later,
  17. Actually, I just drilled the holes for the tubing in mine. Once the engine is mounted in the frame, you really can't see between the headers and the starter where the plate would be...
  18. Looking good, my old friend!! Do you have to pay your elves extra for working on resin kits? My elves refuse to work on resin kits, no matter how much $$ I offer them. Later,
  19. Nice work, as usual, my old friend!! I've been to Mr. Donut in Japan several times. The oddest thing that I remember about Mr. Donut was their meat donuts Yes, they actually sold donuts with some sort of meat inside them. No, I never tried one, so I don't remember what kind of meat they used... Later,
  20. Very nice work, Paul!! Welcome to the forum!! Later,
  21. Yeah...you've posted this one here before...but I never get tired of looking at your stuff!! Amazing attention to detail, again!! Thanks for sharing,
  22. Here's the best one I could find of my model. Here's a picture of a HEMI short block. The green arrow points to where the oil filter normally goes. Basically, the oil filter adapter for remote lines is bolted to the block. Later,
  23. Steve, Yeah...Jeff's stuff is pretty much "off the hook!" Yours is looking really fine, too!! This thing has just the right stance for a gasser!! Have you figured out how big of a hole you'll have to make in the hood? I had to move the opening in the hood slightly on mine because of the different engine and chassis I used. Later,
  24. WOW!! Photo etch works really well for that steering wheel. I remember those from '69...they were really thin. This whole build is coming along very nicely!! I can hardly wait to see the finished model!! Later,
  25. The dash pics look great, Jeff. What did you use for the woodgrain? Later,
