1. Fender skirts are available now for the Foose Cadillac! These are handmade and fit perfectly to the body, however the kit tires and wheels are too wide to use once these are installed. If you're using the normal tall & skinny whitewalls they will fit fine as shown here.
2. As promised, the new "Buckaroo" hood is available now. Link
3. Looks great so far! If you haven't already, check out Olson Bros. Early Bronco parts too. There are rally doors, fenders, different types of bumpers, a raised hood, etc.
4. There is more there now and more in the works. Thanks for the awesome reviews, Chris does an incredible job! Check out the website at www.resincastmodelparts.com
5. We stopped at Rodger's shop back in the late '90s on our way back home from the Mall of America. He told me on the phone that he was in a tiny town way out in the middle of nowhere and he was right. It took forever to get there because he was way out on two-lane backroads surrounded by nothing but farms. He actually had an old school building that housed the local post office boxes and he was the postmaster at the time. Either the gym or the cafeteria (I forget now) was his warehouse and I wish I had bought more than I did when we were there. He is a seriously nice guy and was fun to meet and to deal with. We also stopped at the Ertl outlet in Dyersville after we left there but there wasn't much to see except farm toys.
6. I understand re-popping someone's hand-work without any modifications, especially if they're still making them is wrong, but plenty of people are doing just that with out-of-production parts that were designed and produced by AMT/Revell/Monogram etc. so where do you draw the line? They still hold the license for the original parts and those licenses to Ford, GM & Chrysler aren't cheap. I would venture a guess that if they wanted to they could go after the entire resin community and they would put a lot of people out of business. And for what? As was explained by someone with legal knowledge recently it doesn't matter how much or little you change something, the original work still stands. I agree whole-heartedly that copying someone's original design like JF's figurines would be wrong, and ethically making copies of someone's resin parts and reselling is indeed wrong but let's not take it too far or I fear it will bite us in the rear-ends. It's a fine line in the copyright world that we all walk when we reproduce and sell parts that someone else actually created.
7. My wife and I spent most of a weekend in Toledo with Bob Paeth several years ago. We heard so many "inside" stories from him it was amazing. I wouldn't be able to recall most of the information but those guys that actually worked in the companies had a great time from the sounds of it. I just had a blast listening, I didn't bother taking notes but I did have him sign a box that he had a hand in making upper management mad about. That's one of my favorite pieces of memorabilia.
8. Half cabs, hoods, fender flares and more stuff are up now!
9. Hang in there, more are coming!
10. They're in the works as we type!
11. Stephen, we're looking at alternatives but between what the delivery service charges and the materials (boxes, labels, packing, printer ink, etc.) necessary for shipping, it costs us more than the $4 we charge for the lower 48 states so we just can't at the moment. We agree that shipping outside the USA is expensive, but the "global shipping program" from eBay is set by eBay, not us. We don't even see those charges as they are directly billed to you by eBay. We're definitely open to hearing alternatives for shipping if there are cheaper (but still reliable) options out there. On a side note, I was in Toronto a little over a year ago and couldn't believe the difference in prices - of everything! A $5-6 dollar lunch here at McDonalds cost almost ten bucks there. Crazy!
12. The website is under construction but we're concentrating on building up the product list first. We're both working on additional items so the website has to take a back seat (pun intended) for now but will let everyone know when it's ready.
13. I didn't see anything in the rules about posting e*** links but if there is please feel free to delete this post and I'll PM the interested party(ies). Bronco half-cabs
14. I happen to know a guy that's selling the half-cab.
15. So I wonder if a resin single exhaust crossover pipe would be welcomed?
16. I hope they fix the windshield & roof error.
17. As far as the model goes... wow. That's really nice. As far as the car goes, very sorry.
18. I had a ball building this kit, you can see pictures here: http://jimolson.us/models/71duster/71duster.html I built mine as a replica of a real Duster that was in our area back in the late 70s.
19. I built this as a review kit for RoR a few months ago. It is completely whacked, I hope no one expects it to be high quality because it's not. But it is a great looking shelf model and a reminder to many of us of our childhoods. I left the body yellow and by the time you get the decals on, the yellow body, black decals and red "glass" really contrast each other and look awesome.
20. I met Roger (Rodger?) several years ago when we went on a family vacation. Nice guy! We stopped at his shop in Iowa on the way back from the Mall of America. It was in an old school building and he also ran the town's post office in that same building. All thirty or so PO boxes... lol! I bought several items from him including a few kits. He told me the history of a bunch of his products including the awesome rubber tires he sold. I wish I could have picked up more from him but as always, I was low on money at the time.
21. He's not kidding about the nurses either. I actually work in IT for that health care system so he got a little extra special treatment 'cause he's my lil 'bro. I quit smoking cigarettes back in 1986 and it's a real bear to deal with. I enjoy fine cigars these days but will never, ever touch a cigarette again.
22. Thanks guys, I know he'll get a kick out of this when he gets back home. He'll probably be coming home tomorrow but by Sunday for sure. Heart problems run deep in our dad's side of the family and we haven't always eaten healthy, smoke, etc. so that doesn't help. A lot of that will change as it did for me a few years back when I got a stent. Our dad got two stents a couple years later, now Chris has his. As hard as we try to do the right things, genetics plays a big part in it and we'll definitely be fighting that in the future.
23. Guys, most of you know my lil bro Chris by the name Gluhead here. He's in the hospital after having a heart attack earlier today. They put three stents in an artery and he's still got one that needs attention but they'll do that after he's recovered from this. He's in good spirits and will need to make some serious life changes but I'm sure we'll see him back on here soon. Thoughts and prayers for him would be appreciated by us all. Thanks! Jim
24. Not bad for a hack, eh? lol! just kidding, Glu's my lil 'bro. Here's my version of the same car. His is a lot more detailed than mine.
25. I think the concept is cool, I just wondered. I've had to modify crossmembers and swap oil pans to get some custom projects to fit right.
