  1. Bill, I don't want to talk out of place but when you get that done it should be cast in resin. You can get a LOT more out of it if you want to sell it than printing them each time someone wants one.
  2. We've been toying with the idea, but the grille has compound curves and angles so it's difficult to replicate it by hand. It would almost take having one in hand to measure, get angles, etc. That one is not simple to do without that information. I did a rough model in 3D last year but I'm not good enough with the software to pull it off. I know Chris has it in the back of his mind but he hasn't had time to learn the CAD software either.
  3. I'm not sure what it was intended for, but I think you could adapt it to about any 4x4 application.
  4. Those are going to be a while yet, Mike, probably a few weeks or so. The website is updated! www.resincastmodelparts.com
  5. Sorry guys, I haven't had a chance to update the website yet. Hopefully soon. There is also a 'vert top and the full wagon hard top coming, as well as a Jeepster-style snowplow.
  6. Is there a maker on the package? I really don't want to butcher mine and have it look bad.
  7. Yeah, the problem is the pattern of the grille is so small it would be impossible to duplicate by hand. We looked at it hoping we could.
  8. I got a couple of these yesterday at Hobby Lobby. Does anyone make a standard grille, tail panel and hood? I can re-do the hood but I'm not sure if I can make the underside as clean as I'd like. I want to build a non-SS out of one of them.
  9. I got two of the '68s on the first run from one of the online dealers. I'd like to see the base model version but not at the risk of sacrificing this one.
  10. Yep. It's going to take some work but it's still better than the original.
  11. Thanks for the tip on the hood. The front end also widens out at the body line on the front fenders, so I sanded them straight. They could use a little more sanding (pic is after sanding) but I don't want to lose the body line altogether. I appreciate the fact that they raised the angle of the eyebrow, but it's still not quite right. The grille opening is a lot better though. I also didn't realize until I got the kit that it didn't have the Mach I scoops on the rear quarters so I stole them from an old built-up and fit them in since I'm building a replica of the '69 Mach I we had when I was a kid.
  12. Here's a couple of pics I took tonight to compare the two. The new one is obviously taller and longer (more correct scale) and the new Revell body is better, but after looking at it in person I believe they could have done better without a lot of work. There are some things that bug me about the new release but there's no sense in re-hashing them, I'll just try to fix them. It is a disappointment though, I was hoping for a little better.
  13. Does anyone make the correct gold stripes for the Mach I for this kit?
  14. I did a replica of my father-in-law's '77 from this kit.
  15. This is a front shot of the '69 we had when I was a kid. This new kit is much better than the rest, I can't wait to get some.
  16. Most of those can be sourced from other kits but a really nice step bumper has been the elusive one for me. I modified the stock one that comes in the 4x4 kit. With as many trucks as there are out there it seems like someone would have done a correct step bumper at some point.
  17. Guys, Chris is back to normal health again and has more Bronco parts listed. I'll get the website updated soon, but the eBay store is stocked again. https://www.ebay.com/str/olsonbrothers [Edit to add] The website is back up, we're still working on a new design with a shopping cart but it's www.resincastmodelparts.com for anyone that's interested.
  18. I hope he used a metal rod inside the axle housing, I've had resin differentials sag over time.
  19. I'll have to pick up one of those. Thanks!
