  1. I want to get this kit but is all the mods you did required to have it look correct? I see that the box says two options for street and race. Was the cage included with the kit no good? Also with all the scratch built stuff and robbing of other kits you did. Just curious before I buy one.. thanks.
  2. Looks awesome.. how do you like that clear? I’ve been looking at buying a 2 part clear but can’t decide on the gravity or zero, also looking at an automotive 2 part urethane but they are so expensive.
  3. Very nice indeed Mark, I really enjoy seeing builds of the lesser known drivers.
  4. Is that a Die cast Brandon?
  5. Gotta say though if Tamiya were to do one boy would it be sweet!!
  6. Nothing ultra detailed but this is the best i’ve been able to find so far. They are from the 88 Budweiser Monte Carlo and 88 Bobby Allison Buick. Hope this helps some.
  7. I just found Donn Yost (oldmansmodels.com) on youtube and gotta say he has the best looking paint jobs I have ever seen on cars. He offers a DVD on his painting techniques for about $20. I will gladly pay that if he really breaks down all his secrets. Has anyone else bought it? is it worth it for the info?... Thanks
  8. If they want a Japanese company I could really see Tamiya doing one but with the sharp decline in the popularity of NASCAR I’m sure they feel now is not the time. They do make top notch kits though.
  9. That foil work is very tedious..you did an awesome job. Great build
  10. I really like it Trucker...2 thumbs up!!
  11. To me you can clearly see the break in the door on these pics... others may disagree.
  12. I like anything Bobby Allison and really like this one... great job!
  13. Cotton has to be in my personal top 5 list. His shop was about 30 miles up the road and I remembering seeing him every Saturday night back in the 90’s at Cherokee speedway with his 3 grandsons who raced 4cyl there. I like to think this is the look after a race at Spartanburg fairgrounds back in the day. The kit is the Moebius Joe Weatherly version with Powerslide decals. Hope you enjoy looking.
  14. I really like this!!, Great attention to detail.
  15. I posted progress pics a few weeks ago but now I’ve finally finished. Overall I’m pretty happy how it turned out. If I could go back I would have fitted the upper roll cage under the roof better. It’s about an 1/8” too short but you get what you get with these AMT kits, next time I’ll know. Also after seeing another post about the split air cleaner, I know what I have isn’t correct but I can live with it. Hope you enjoy and please critique away. (Only way I’ll learn anything for the future)
  16. I think this would be a close match: Testors gloss dark red https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Paint_and_Construction/dark-red-gloss-enamel-spray/TES00001204/product.php?s=3&t=1&u=0&micr=769&pg=1&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber&so=a&p=2&co=1
  17. Another great build, always liked that car.
  18. Here is the link to the Hex and RGB numbers. Now how to match that to a model paint color I haven’t found yet but I’ll keep looking but at least this is a starting point. http://www.colourlovers.com/color/CC0247/Folgers_Coffee_Red
  19. Thank you sir, I remember the one thing I was unhappy about was the bleed through under the door numbers. Could have been the manufacturer I used or this may be the case with any of them using white over the red and green. Only way may be to not paint under the number but I wouldn’t even want to think about getting all that lined up correctly.
  20. Built this back in about 96 or 97 when I was 18 or 19. It’s held up well with very little yellowing.
  21. Red layed down using Tamiya TS-49 rattle can.
