  1. Thank you! I think he would have too.
  2. Thanks Zippi! It was a challenging project.
  3. I think so too. I sure do miss that guy.
  4. I started to build a tribute to my friend Donn Yost who we lost a few years ago. This follows his Cobra Gasser closely, but I wanted to make a few changes to the suspension so it followed what a60’s era gasser would have. I added a dropped front straight axle and replaced the independent rear suspension with a coil-over solid rear end. I think the Old Man would have approved.
  5. Thank you for your interest in my work. Here are a few pics during the build.
  6. Thank you. I learned a lot about conceived limitations. Patience and planning are key to breaking through.
  7. Thanks.
  8. Thanks. The plate took a little figuring out so it worked and stayed in any position.
  9. Nice work. Sinister...
  10. Thanks for your kind words. It was a fun build, especially the pull-down plate.
  11. Wow! Thank you so much.
  12. Thanks David! It was a fun build with a few firsts for me. Thanks for looking...
  13. Thanks Francis. I appreciate you looking and supportive comment.
  14. Hi Francis, Sorry for the late reply, but I find the forum hard to navigate so I don't visit often. I plan on using the body, interior and chassis from the MPC 75 Dart Sport kit. It's not the same as Carlton's car, but I don't get to tied up in all of the things you do mainly because I don't have the skill required to address them. I think the Hemi will come from the AMT Super Bee kit and everything else will be aftermarket or scratch built. I'm still in the process of gathering everything I need and will post something once I have a plan of attack. I'll be following your project and picking up tips and techniques from it. Thanks for reaching out! Mike
  15. I built this Revell kit as a typical muscle car that could be found on the streets in the 70's. I added a lot of detail to make it look realistic, even adding a working pull-down license plate with the gas filler neck and gas cap, which was common back then. Door locks, tire valve stems, drive shaft balance weights and a lot of work in the engine bay, on the engine and chassis. The paint is Model Masters Dark Green Metallic enamel with their enamel High Gloss clear. I made mistakes but pleased with the end result.
  16. Looking forward to following your project.
  17. I’m starting a similar project, Don Carlton’s Rod Shop Demon. It will be a blend of his Pro Stock/Match Racer. Will be following your project closely.
  18. Thanks. You have a keen eye noticing the balance weights on the driveshaft. Not many pick up on that detail.
  19. Thanks everyone for all of the positive comments. They are greatly appreciated.
  20. Thanks so much. Your comment is greatly appreciated.
  21. Thank you for your kind words. The spark plug boots and the tire valve stems are from Norm at Miniatures of Maryland.
  22. Thanks Tim. I appreciate your kind words.
  23. Ok. Thanks.
