  1. err no it's clearly a convertable silly.
  2. no no no no no no no no no None of those. Good guess
  3. Nope, but you are getting closer.
  4. This is how Fujimi does their Lambos it might give you some ideas. If you find the right stuff. A tube, rod and a small rubber washer or Oring that would offer some resistance to hold it open but still allow it to close that might work.
  5. Clue 2 Now you should be able to get it.
  6. Nope not a Ferrari. It's green. See, knew it wasn't Porsche, the only cars that could even come close were the GTP and Light cars, but they would have a waste pipe too.
  7. I used to hang on to all the boxes, but then I started getting to many empty boxes laying around so I pitch them. I saved a few for spare parts and things, and the aircraft ones with nice art work I will cut the tops and save the art. when they get beyond displaying: broken, unrepairable, or just not that good I will strip it down for anything usefull and trash the rest. It doesn't happen very often though. I have also sold or given away some models I built over the years. I have two in museums.
  8. That is pretty cool. But how could there possibly be any oil in it. There is no oil pan on it.
  9. I figured that. Martini was first to comes to mind. There just wasn't a whole lotta Porsche with exhaust comeing out the body work. Must be an Audi. I gave ya the biggest clue there is... It's green. No not a Porsche.
  10. Nick, This one is specail for you buddy.
  11. I know... Wild guess it's a BMW...
  12. Turned out real nice. What's wrong the the Heller 905? I have one in the pile to be built I am a Prosche fan, but no so much a spyder fan I like coupes better. I wouldn't be that surprised if one turned up in plastic. I am real surprised the Audi R8 and R10 did. Audi, at one time, wanted a premium for licensing fees so nobody would touch them in plastic.
  13. Thanks. Just what I needed to know.
  14. Yes on a CL or CLK chassis. Looks like Bentley badging.
  15. Kind of looks like a Crossfire which would explaine the Euro look. Might be a Bentley next generation coupe.
  16. Ah... they do, they are kind of generic though.
  17. I see now. any PE sills?
  18. You seem to be the guy to ask. What do you do for door sill plates? Anyone doing PE sill plates?
  19. been around cars for a long long time. Ya just start to memorize shapes, layouts, wheels, bodylines, little details that makes that car unique and specific to that car's make and model. I figured it was a bugeye but no way to know for sure if it was modified with a different bonnet. But, the wheels said British race car all over them, and the door outline was definitely Sprite. Some take a little more work, like, "oh yeah that looks like it came from this or that manufacture, or designer." Just need to pin down the specific model. Sometimes it is, "Oh yeah, I seen one of those... what the heck was it agian?"
  20. okay I did spend a half hour or so at HF looking at the micro lathe and mill. It looks like reasonably decent stuff. You could do a lathe and mill for just over $600.00. The lathe is just the perfect size. Not to big. I would rather have a little smaller mill, but for $319. It seems like a worthwhile investment for light duty modeling. The mill had a gear speed selector, reverse, and 3 axis. You would have to jump up to the next machine for a rotating head. Everything was tight, however coated in a thick grease. The only small issue I found was the lathe tool holder was loose, but that seemed to be the brake shoe for the slide not being tight. Otherwise there was a some play in the adjustment for the tool holder when reverseing direction. Everything else looked good, tight and sold cast iron. I am seriously considering it.
  21. He may have a point there.
  22. It doesn't matter to me. Whatever you guys want to do. I been having fun, and it was good motivation. And it got me to build something besides another Porsche I just been having a bunch of nit-picky fights... ya know what I mean. Some build just go together like nothing and look good. Some are just a fight, not enough of one to hang it up (or mash it up into tiny little bits) , but just enough to start getting to you - because the errors, booboos and slip ups not so serious to warrent a redo but I know they are there. Althought the color combo is turning out better than I though at first. It's just been a fight and I probably did things the hard way instead of the easy, but now I know so I build another Starliner or something similar how to go about doing it. But I am probably going to be done way before the deadline maybe a 5-6 days 7 if I decied to vacuum form the new glass. I may have to do another.
  23. It's coming okay... not my best build ever
  24. Dash rear seat and one side panel done.
  25. Whooohoo! I just wanted to say thanks to a super great guy Bud Ellis for the chrome tree. came today!
