  1. Fiat 128 Coupé SL 1100cc
  2. It was a near disastrous end for the Starliner. We got a new kitty Gizmo, he looks like a gremlin and makes gremlin nosies... Anyway, he has taken up shelter in my hobby room and has been using it as safe-haven while he's adjusting to the other cat, Jack Sparrow and the dog, Bear, 150 rottie. He has been pretty well behaved until last night where I left him alone for a few minutes and he decided to take a nap... yup on top of the Starliner. He walked through a pile of debris to get to it. It was only slightly vandalized
  3. You missed everything.
  4. Yup, Isopropyl 90% or 99%. That will help washing just about any surface finish you can throw at it.
  5. I use Windsor & Newton artist inks, with some iso.
  6. WHatsup in OZ? Nice to see another rotary head. I have owned a few myself including a 13B RX4 Wagon, have a Mazda 6, and killed an RX8. Cheers from Colorado.
  7. Inks man, inks are where it's at. Carbs done with yellow and black inks over MM alu plate. all the aluminum inked. scripts on the valve convers inked. Exhuast blueing blue, violet and black inks.
  8. All I have to do is let a few things dry up and I can wire this bad-boy.
  9. tags are wrong. should be bracket img close bracket URL bracket / img close bracket (img) URL (/img)
  10. Let's see if I can get it to work. I don't know, works for me so you must be doing something wrong. are you using the insert image button? Are the tags scripted correctly?
  11. Nice looking Starliner, where old meets new... I like it. What is there something about this car that screams blue.... This is the fifth build of this kit I have seen in a week or two and all but one has been blue, and even that one was blue at one time.
  12. Thanks. Yeah, I didn't make that sign but thanks for the info. It's been a while for me too, I could read and write German better than I could ever speak it, though.
  13. Not a problem, if I remember or come up with anything else I will let you all know.
  14. You are welcome. They are not anywhere near Tamiya F1 kits, but I have to agree the subject is great. You can build a pretty decent representation of the cars with some work. They just need a little help. Just by thinning everything down as far as you can help a lot on it's own.
  15. here is a link to another thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...st&p=110628
  16. Revell F2005. This kit needs a lot of help. First you have to decide if you want an early or late aero package. The late isn’t that much more work. The box art is incorrect. It shows a late aero package without the side pod splitter. The side splitter came first, but the box shows no side splitter but with the nose winglets. The kit has neither. When I started the kit was still relatively new and the closest PE set was for the F2003. There may be a F2005 set now, but I am not sure. The hardest part to deal with is in the rear side covers around the transmission (part 35 & 36). For seam and painting purposes I recommend cut them in half (dark shaded to light shaded in the instructions) and attach the light shaded to the upper body, because there is no way to get to them if you build it like the instructions say. The engine is decent, and you will never see most of it. The only real place it needs help is the exhaust tips. They are way to small. I just heated some Evergreen rod and bent a nice radius and drilled out the ends. I seamed it the new part at the collector. You will have to do some test fitting to get the pipes to exit the bodywork in the right place and should be almost flush with the body. Forget about step 4 for now, you really need to build the upper body first so you can fit the engine and new exhaust. This will mean you will have to chop up the suspension bits so you can add them after the body is painted. The two new body aero parts are the little winglets on the nose that direct the air over the top suspension arm, and the splitter on the side pod by the radiator opening. They did run a nose camera at some of the later races and is optional. You can pretty much build the body in sequence. You may be tempted to fill the side fins, Part 8, but there is a natural seam there on the real car. I opted to open all the winglets with the back side of an Xacto. Get your filler out because you are going to need it, especially around the radiator inlets. The fit here isn’t very good, and it will just take some time getting a smooth duct. NOTE: leave the radiators off pt 20 & 23 for now so you can sand inside the duct. I also cut apart the front wing, opened the snorkel scoop and the side winglets. The wheels are the worst part. They stick out too far, and are a snap on design. The inside of the wheel should be almost flush with the CF brake-cooling shroud. To achieve this grind the inside of the wheel out until you get the wheels sitting where they should be. Brake detail is virtually nonexistent; they are visible through the wheels so you can do what you think there. That is one of the reasons for getting a PE set. It has brake discs. Wheel nuts are also nonexistent so I resin copied some from a Tamiya JACCS Honda wheel. The brake ducts are horrible so I opened and cleaned them up. It’s mostly clean, fitting, filling and reshaping I have no idea what to do about the rear tires, which are too small. They appear to be wide enough but they are slightly shorter than the fronts. So they look weird. The seat bets are molding in the seat, but there are no decals for them at all. I am grinding mine out and replacing them with a set of Eduard belts. HTH
  17. Sure, Let me see how might be the best way to do this. I need to revisit the kit and see what I have for photos. I wasn't taking a lot during this build and now, since, have had a paint problem and aborted it. I did get another kit because I kind of have it all figured out now.
  18. Can I get about two years? which will be about how long to build a plank on plank wooden ship with full rigging and sails.
  19. Thanks guys for the kind words. Hopefully I will finish in the next day or two.
  20. Dang, why didn't I think of that... I first thought GTI, although I think it would be second gen 82-89? At least in the States.
  21. I do have a ship, I am not sure I have the time....
  22. Yeah, probably one of the best "Y" Block / FE kit engines.
  23. what? did you give up on mine already. Ya need another clue?
  24. Yeah it is... I kind of have this much figured out. Probably not to much later than early nineties with the promenent wheel arches, Probably earlier even with the very high side molding. The ground effects look Fordish. So we have an 80ish coupe with a small engine because of the 4 lugs. Maybe as big as a V6. Hummm what has that wierd body line that follows up around the rear arch? maybe like a EXP.
  25. Thanks, not quite going to get-er done today but close.
