  1. Alright you convinced me, its not all that bad looking. perhaps ill keep my eyes open.
  2. Yeah i'm quickly getting hooked on the "more then one tone" paint choices, ill be looking to do more of that in the future.
  3. Giving it a little paint cleaning it up a bit
  4. Got these two kits a couple weeks ago. They're all ready prebuilt. Iv taken all ready taken the first steps to disassembling the purple 70 Cuda, the yellow challenger is another story, looks like a super glue bomb. I don't do very many old beat up kits, so I'm looking to do both of them as an almost half pristine half rust bucket mopars (weather them and all that fun stuff) then to display them together.
  5. Wow Incredible build, turned out beautiful
  6. Wow that's intense! I once bent the brake mount arm on a dirt bike of mine, it came down and caught the manhole cover in the street, bike did a backwards wheelie. And I still ride that thing today.
  7. Lol yeah i guess it gives meaning to the warpage and the fact the wheel on one side would stick out more to the one beside it... it looks alright in the pictures, and all I need to do in real life is close my eyes so I wont be able to see my mistakes, and there we go problems solved!
  8. lol no point in cleaning it. its just super scratched from work. I did replace the images with better ones, in case your wondering.
  9. So its done and under glass! here is the link,
  10. So its officially finished! here is the link to the under glass,
  11. Thanks!
  12. This is a 1964-1967 Sunbeam Tiger, with a 1994 Chevy corvette engine and suspension crammed underneath. I was looking forward to building the Tiger since i bought the kit about 6 months ago. After i built my Datsun, i became exited to build the kit, but I became quickly disappointed when i found out that many major pieces (such as the front bumper, the Wantenabe retro style rally wheels, some exhaust pieces etc) where missing. Crushed by the missing parts, I was tempted to not built the kit to begin with. but then i had an idea! Originally I had a cool idea to retrofit the suspension and engine of my 1994 Corvette (another kit missing parts, also the 94 corvette in my opinion isn't the best looking corvette) underneath a custom wide body 65 Corvette my dad built when he was younger. With the realization of my beloved Tiger missing parts, my brain came to the conclusion of cramming the much longer and wider 94 Vette under the much smaller and shorter 64-ish Tiger. Within building it became apparent that the corvette chassis would have to be majorly shortened both length wise and width wise, which left me cutting the front and rear off the Vette, and discarding the center, which I rebuilt out of styrene to fit the shorter width of the car, so in the end the chassis is really more like 2/3rd corvette 1/3rd styrene. The Tiger body was warped in the beginning, a lot of the measurements I did without noticing the warpage so forgive me if everything isn't exactly straight or lines up correctly. The engine is in fact the LT1 from the Corvette, I was missing the intake manifold so I custom made one out of styrene (which looks far cooler then the original one). To add just a bit more pzazz, I custom built some exhaust headers to accommodate dual front mounting Garrett turbochargers I bought off eBay some time ago, as well as an ECU board on the passenger side of the car. The paint could be better, sadly it cracking in some places because of the weird way I had to put the body on around the roll bar (this weird way also make it almost impossible to remove the body after installed) By the time I was ready for paint, I thought it would be kinda cool to paint it in a way that it can be displayed with the Datsun pickup I built last. And just for fun I added a tow hitch to the back of the Tiger to tow the trailer I built for the Datsun. I got a kick out of the idea that a race car is towing a truck to the races. At the end of it all, the car is about 65% Corvette, 25% Sunbeam Tiger, and 10% styrene. Ill let you guys decide what percent of cool it really is. 13. I might end up changing the photos, my phone isn't that good at pictures and you cant really see just how good and shinny the paint turned out.
  14. Reminds me of my dad... just replace the truck with a square body S10, and the engine with a 350.
  15. I began this a little truck a little while ago (I'm all ways busy so these kits normally take a bit for me to complete). The original idea was to make a vintage nastruck, but over time the ever growing interest of using a more non traditional engine in a stock car started to appeal to me. So instead of putting a v8 in the truck I kept the 4 banger. Now you might be scratching your head saying "man a 4cyl? How could you?" to which I say... "Turbo", the world's biggest turbo in fact. The idea came from one of the tips and tricks pages from someone who I can't remember. The solder turbo is scaled for more of a 1/12 scale model kit, but I decided that it would work in my 1/25th because nascar. Finally the kit has been lowered and raked, and the bed, rollbar, engine cage, racing seat, fender flares, front spoiler, and race trailer are custom built out of styreen. The Sunbeam tiger in the last photo is just another kit I built to display with this one, so the first picture is just demonstrating what the whole thing looks like together. 16. Added a tow hitch for fun.
  17. Thanks! Sometimes I can get a little too focused on all the little imperfections. Its super close to being finished, I have added the dashboard and soon ill be adding the remaining of the finishing touches. after that my plan is to put both the Datsun and the Tiger under glass!
  18. Not my greatest work but it's almost complete, just a few more touches. The rear wheel allighnment turned out to be slightly out of wack, kinda weird though because if I press down on the back the wheels sit alot more centre. I think my problem lies within the warped body I tries to streighten before paint, and the heap load of paint I kept stripping and re applying. Whichever it is I'm not taking it back apart to fix it. So I guess I'll just have to put my selective perfectionism off to the side and just deal with how it is.
  19. I'll take your word for it, the only Tamiya tape I have works quite well. Looks like I'll have to order myself in some.
  20. Repainted and ready for decals.
  21. Just standard green painters tape, and some yellow Tamiya masking tape which is brand new and I think I'm going to start using it. I had some weird ultra fine Tamiya masking tape that worked wonders for me on the Datsun Pickup, But my workbench has turned into a where's Waldo tape edition and I think It phased out of existence. Do you have any preferences on tape?
  22. So I'm having a joy of a time trying to paint this thing, no matter what I do I screw it up somehow. I'm considering stripping the paint and redoing it minus the side scallops. Although it's hard to see in the pictures the taping job wasn't really good. On the flip side the blue turns out to be more of a green, and I kind of like the colour.
  23. The horrific sanding, jb welding, drilling, filing, liquid putty conture party is finally finished, and the first 3 coats of white has finally been applyed. I'd show a bunch of photos of me priming this thing, then sanding, then screwing up and putting and redoing it again, but I figure I'll save you all the hassle and just show where it's at now.
  24. Almost ready for paint, chassis is complete. And bumper improvements.
  25. Chassis is almost complete just making the side exhaust currently. Reminds me of a go kart...
