opened this 63 sometime last summer.... then i started workin on something else.... well i pulled it back out a couple days ago and finished the hinges... needs the jambs now.....
i didn't invite you to come over to this forum and behave like this..... i love lowriders...... BUT i'd rather see a stock or mild hotrodded 64 than one that is done backyard and torn apart.... a lot of the street riders tear their cars apart and toss them aside.... whats good in that? that IS a waste of american metal.....
a buddy of mine on the LayitLow forums gave me this tip..... 70 impala front bench..... fits PERFECT after removing the center console.... even the seat patterns match well...
went for the patterned top but today wasn't my best.... i kinda rushed thru so a couple bad spots on the red and the green has even more issues... heres a few mockup pics...
here u can see how the green messed up....
a MS Paint drawing of how i wanna finish it up....
painted another one.....
filled the front marker lights....
shaved off the spoiler...
Luxury Sport front and rear clip needs a bit more work done....
cut the moonroof too
you don't wanna know.....
i've been heavy into it for more than 10 years..... got more projects than anything.... some are stalled wishing for chrome suspensions....
as far as i know there was no convertable offered in 39.... the one u saw is probably the same i've seen.... a one-off done by the Tovar family... Try searching that name and you might find it... they build a lot of classic "Bombs" and had a original 37 convertable they built up featured recently on the cover of Lowrider Magazine too....
after smoothing out the body sides i started grafting in the front clip and trunk....
its almost there.... a bit more refining on the joints and it'll be great....
here's another project that i've had in my mix of projects for a couple months..... never showed it here yet....
sealed Petty Grand Prix....
not anymore
combined with this kit....
shaved off the bodylines and side moldings
got in some work today....
after a primer and filling in a couple more holes, the second coat of primer on the frame looks good enough since the a-arms will cover a lot of it....
i use bent up coat hangers for my spray stands lets me get all over inside the body too
the 70 impala kit comes with 2 sets of chrome valve covers and 3 different intake manifolds.... 2 of which are also chrome.... they are extra..... do u have any revell lowrider kits? i could use the wheels and tires with the whitewalls from the cadillac lowrider or 63 impala lowrider kits.... that is if you plan on putting on some aftermarket wheels like pegasus.... or even the buick Grand National stock wheels... if not no worries.... i can still sen u the stuff....
send me your address and i'll see if i can send you some goodies for that engine.... i got a couple of extra chrome 3-carb intakes and chrome valve covers tht i could send you for free if u want....
just like this motor...
