  1. Hi Mike! Great build, the paint is slick, and the pictures make it look like the 1/1 car! Bravo. CT
  2. Hi EMRE! I saw that article too, and I have it in my collection. I looked long and hard at the Pacer that Mr. Stanford designed, and I planned to create it by mashing a late 350Z (bottom) and a Porsche 928 greenhouse, with some mods, of course. But since I could not find suitable, affordable donor cars, I resolved to keep most of the Pacer OEM body intact, and rather modernize the chassis/powertrain and interior. Choices, choices... CT
  3. Hi Tim! Thank you. If you try Revell's new spray chrome, you'll notice that the first rwo coats, be they light or medium, will loose much shine while flashing... It appears to be normal, and if you follow with a third "very wet" coat, the shine will look as good as typical kit chrome. Just be carefull when handling it a couple of days later. Mine held-up fine, and did not mar. I did NOT try any clear coating on it, neither water-based (like Tamya's or Johnson's floor care) or lacquer, so I can't comment to the gloss reduction effect it might provoque. But I read on many forums that it does, indeed, affect the shine. I suppose so many people can't be wrong? Regards, CT
  4. Merci Mario, très apprécié! CT PS: J'espère vous croiser au show de Québec, le 14 octobre.
  5. Hi David! You are right: this chassis is very well detailed "as-is". Just detail work (and shortening) required. CT
  6. parental discretion advised
  7. Thank you David! Truth be told, I never rode in a Pacer, but I would certainly jump at the occasion if I ever could! CT
  8. Hi Marcos! It's obvious a ton of work went intio this car. I suspect that if I look up the word "menacing" in the Webster, this is the picture that will accompany it... Bravo! CT
  9. Hi Rusty! They came from MPC's 72 Chevy PU, a "Rides" edition if I remember correctly. The are large diameter, low profile, so a shoe-in for this vehicle... CT
  10. Thank you David! there's no such thing as useless leftover parts. Something had to happen... CT
  11. Hi Bill! I agree: the guy in the ponycar would be taken aback! CT
  12. HI! I always try to "think outside the box"... So here's my late-Hemi, twin turbo, rear engine Pro-Touring Charger. Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  13. Thank you Michael! I actually found the Wizard image online. It seemed to be the logo for a sports team: Mad Wizard. I downloaded it, and changed the proportions a bit, and blackened the lower part of the "robe" to erase the top of the actual lettering. Voilà! CT
  14. Hi Sir! Ugly fast: I like it. The Pacer never left anyone without a strong opinion. I guess it's still true! CT
  15. Hi Tim! Thank you so much for sharing a gallery of Mr. Woodruff's creations. I followed his presence in the hobby over so many years, and I'm always impressed by his imagination and creativity. On this forum, he visited and commented on many of my builds, and needless to say, it's flattering to have "Mr. NNL" (or yourself, for that matter) drop by! He even shared with me, via personnal emails, pictures of some of the creative kitbashes he is working on... Talk about a scoop! Somehow, you discover that those who have been so immersed in the hobby for so long, like Mister NNL and yourself, represent the true creativity and camaderie of this community. Regards, CT
  16. Hi Steve! Well, my dear Sherlock, it seems you solved the mystery. I guess it is indeed an MPC. Only the wheels were different on mine: the five spoke "star spokes" aluminium dish mags. I think yours are different... No problem with posting your pics: this forum is to share, and I enjoy that! Thanks for shedding some light. Now, maybe JOHAN purists won't get mad at me for "destroying" a rare specimen: It occured to me once at a model show. Oh well... CT
