  1. Hi David! Thanks for the comments. If you magnify the pics, you'll realize that the slightly darker accents on the pleats of the seats were done just by gently dragging the very pointy tip of a lead pencil in the grooves. It imparts a dark line at the bottom of the crease, and some softer rubbing on the sides. Easier than trying to wash them with contrasting colour, in my experience... CT
  2. Hi Gareth! Thanks for the comments. This is actually the stock licence plate that came with the kit. When I took the picture, the flat chromed surface was actually reflecting a darker corner of the room, hence the illusion it is black. So, no magic here on my part. Sorry... CT
  3. Hi Francis! Well, I've built about 10 cars this winter, and since I'm not much into photography (as you can tell...) I waited 'till they were all done before a shooting session. Therefore, I still have 6 or 7 to post here in the coming weeks. Not counting the 4 I'm finishing right now. Hours of fun with styrene (but I know you also enjoy aluminium and brass!). CT
  4. Hi! Thank you all for the comments. This one is sitting on the fence: neither truly north-american nor european. In a twilight zone? CT
  5. Hi Jerry! Let's assume the delivery person is a Lady. She would know that some things are better not hurried, isn't it? CT
  6. Hi! I was always a fan of the sleek british sports-cars. They were more "raw", devoid of all the trinkets that Detroit was sticking to its performance cars of the day. Whatever. What if we were to give the nice Revell of Germany XK 120 a "shave", and install the blown Hemi that came as the alternate configuration in the latest reissue of the Cosmic Charger dragster? The long nose of the Jag could engulf all of it, and then some. Pegasus wheels, ultra-thin acetate "floating" windshield, and soft colors (Tamya's acrylics, custom mixed.) The chassis is scratchbuilt for the rear and center platform, and OEM in the front. Custom console and seats + shifter & hand brake lever. Scratchbuilt flush headlights, integrating the flashers bulbs. Wired & plumbed. Outside of my usual comfort zone, obviously. Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  7. Hi John! Nice to see you back. Fabulous paint, but the interior gets me! Bravo! CT
  8. Thank you Sir! As I said, I have seen countless top notch executions of the EldoRod, each shinier than the other... Couldn't beat that, so,,, Voila`! CT
  9. Thank you Jeff! Actually, the hardest part was proper finishing of the F100 roof where it meets the top of the rear deck, for the last 3 scale feet at the rear. The "joint" is in a cavity created by the fold on the top of the quarter panel. Not easy to sand polyester putty properly in that notch... CT
  10. Thank you Jeremy, quite a compliment! And to say that SEMA 2020 has been canceled because of Covid... CT
  11. Hi Marty! The stance is killer! World class. Bravo! CT
  12. Hi Bill! I too enjoy seeing very detailed models on this very forum. And luckily for us, they come aplenty, don't they? To me, I don't know how to express it better than "being good for the soul." Whenever I get a chance to look at photo reports of events such as, say, the Heartland National, I get that warm feeling. Can't explain it, but it sure feels that way to me! CT
  13. Hi Bill! Sorry to disapoint you, but no, it does not. This very car was built to compete in the "delivery vehicle" theme at a regional event, and I was late at starting it. So, some details had to be dedleted to make it...Next time maybe! CT
  14. Hi Steve! Could not say it better myself. Thanks for the comments. CT
  15. Hi! Very clean and detailed. World class, bravo! Your carburator seems very well engraved/detailed? What is the provenance? CT
  16. Hi Tom! Great concept. Mopar should have used it to increase their offer with a "platform" tradesman truck. Moving the back panel forward in the same way, but keeping the box sides would recreate the Lil' Red Wagon, in a way... CT
  17. Hi Francis! I can't wait for that next gathering. Not a minute too soon. I was a bit worried that the current Covid scare might affect the sensibilities of certains... But it seems that my fellow modelers have a good sense of humour. CT
