  1. Well, hell, put me in for 1 or 2 also!!!! TimP
  2. Thanks, Roger. I appreciate the kind words from you and the others here. TimP
  3. Guys, Thank you all for your kind words. It really means a lot to hear that from your peers of whom you have the utmost respect for. Now to get back on my Mura Bros. project!!! TimP
  4. Bob, I got them from Mark Johnson several years ago. I know that he was with the big scale guys , so you might check those places. I'd send more pics, but I've used up most allowable file size. TimP
  5. Gang, Here's my latest project, a Twin Injected rail in 1/16 scale. The mototrs are resin repops of the Aurora engines. Lottsa SS tubing and a ton of nuts & bolts from R.B. Motion and Scale Hardware. Thanks for taking the time to look. TimP
  6. Shane, Looks absolutely bitchin', bud!!! Can't wait to see more progress. TimP
  7. That's a good option, too. Tha
  8. The 1:1 car this kit is based upon is the original "Walt's Puffer". It used a combination mag/fuel pump drive at the rear of the motor. Unless you're doing a replica of said car, I'd just drill a hole in the front cover and call it good. If you're more ambitious than that, them cobble up the pump/magneto combo mentioned. Neither one is difficult to do. One is just waaaayyyy quicker than the other. TimP ,
  9. WOW!!!!!! TimP
  10. Here's my '57. I don't know about 'inspirational', but it was a fun build!!!
  11. There are, as Gabe and Dan have pointed out. There's 2 car clubs and an IPMS club, as well. Craig Hewitt IPMS is hosting the Nationals in 2010. The other clubs have a yearly contest in April and there are numerous swap meets through out the year. I live in northeatern Arizona and have been known to pop in at a meeting once in a blue moon or two! Great bunch of folks in all the clubs, I think you'll enjoy yourself with them. TimP
  12. WOW!!!! is right. What a great collection of pics. Thanks for turning us onto this!!! TimP
  13. Hey Armorguy, Buying kits just to get needed parts is a way of life for us car guys. Making molds of much needed and common parts and casting them is a way for us to overcome that problem. We have a fantastic aftermarket for us, but NOTHING like you armor and airplane guys have!!!! Contact Matt Conte on here, I'll bet he has something you could use vs. buying another kit. TimP
  14. Well, I don't know about advice, but I've never had any trouble using it on plastic bodies, etc. It will help breakdown glue bonds occassionally and some putties! I've been successful on stripping resin pieces, but you need to 'mother hen' those cuz it can soften the resin. Good luck!! TimP
  15. Curt, VERY NICE!!!! Excellent build, coming along nicely. I'm keeping my eye on this one, so I can learn some new 'tricks'!!! TimP
  16. Man, that's NICE!!!!! TimP
  17. Sweet!!!! That came together nicely! Good memories are hard to beat!!! TimP
  18. Man O Man, Rick, ya just don't know how close your story matches up to the '56 I had when I was a kid!!! I raced at Beeline in Mesa, AZ in the '66-'67 time frame. I also had a '56 Nomad Wagon when I was in South Carolina serving in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club. It was a rust bucket, but it was a NOMAD and set up GASSER style I have no pics of my first '56 cuz my High School sweety has 'em. I have one pic of the Nomad and it's in the background of a pic of my ex brother-in-law. Sucks, huh? Thanks for taking me back to a fantastic time of my life!!! Enjoyed the trip TimP
  19. Wow, Rick, that is one sweet ride!!! What color was she and any more details you'd like to share? TimP
  20. SUHWEET!!! That's what I'd like to do with my Pedregon coupe, only a LOT longer. I'd like to do Frank's ride as well, but only have the one body. I don't want to chance getting another one as it took me over a year to get my order outta Canada!!! Looks good from here!! TimP
  21. Geez, never thought about using directions. I've built these before and usually just start from the inside out, like the real deal. Ya gotta have a chassis to hang stuff from, so that's where I start. Just look for things that would go in a logical order. Don't forget about painting various pieces and parts so you can add them as needed. Not much help, huh?? TimP
  22. Well that's a wilda$$ Altered if I ever did see one!! Who'd thunk it?? Looks good, Gary. TimP
  23. Well, they look pretty good from here! I can see what you were saying about the decals. Can't wait for ya to get the Slixx decals. Be sure to post those finished pics when you're done!! TimP
  24. Hey Robert, Chill out. I wasn't giving the kid a hard time. I really don't know what you guys are seeing on your end, but I TRULY can't see much on mine. I'm certain his builds are BETTER than mine at age 12, cuz I wasn't putting 2 engines together like that or other things that he has on this build. I WANT to see his work and give encouragement, cuz he has gotten a lot of positive feedback. As I said, it could be and probably is, something on my end. When it comes to computers and all the wonderful things you can do with them, I'm still in the stone age, caveman type competency level!! I certainly hope we see more of his work here in the future. Just think how good he'll be when he gets to be our age! TimP
