That's a nice collection. Looks like you never lost your touch. I really like that 57 Ford and that Merc. I took a twenty some year hiatus from building back in the late 70s. Got away from it when kits were getting up to $4.50 USD in the late 70s and figured they were getting entirely too expensive. I had a couple kits I started back in the early 80s and put them aside. 20 years later I had a place with a spare room and started tinkering with those two kits and I was hooked again. After I stumbled across this site my builds started looking much better. I have learned a lot from everyone here. The internet truly is the best tool for building models.

That cleaned up nice. Looks good.

I too am surprised it hasn’t been kitted. Besides the CJ, it probably had the longest production run of any Jeep vehicle. I had a stock ‘94 and loved it. I would definitely buy the kit.
I know. My lady friend has a 94 XJ with 260,000 mi. Its in great shape. I would be good for a few of these if they ever kit these up. That, and my favorite Jeep, the full size Cherokee. Don't recall ever seeing one of these in styrene.

This is the best build of this kit I have seen so far. I have one of these in the pile, have to find something suitable for cable housings. I remember when these bikes came out in the late 60s. I wanted the white Cotton Picker, but couldn't swing the $110 price tag. There was an Orange Krate at a local bike shop a month or so ago, minus the front fender, they wanted $3500 for it. Crazy.

Super nice work on all these. I really like the Notso Special, just something about it.

These all look great. Your sister should be tickled with that beetle. I have always had a soft spot for air cooled VWs. My pick for favorite would have to be that Impala.

Very nice.

These are all top notch, but I like the T bird the best. Always a good feeling when you can get a black paint job to come out smooth. Plus with it lowered makes it look sinister.

That turned out nice. These Revell snap kits are nice, adding the round headlights is a nice touch.

It's that time. I managed to complete 10 models this year. Not likely that I'll get any more finished by years end. I know it's not all cars but thought it would be easiest to put it all together. Did a Revell 1:12 Shelby GT500, 1:12 Tamiya Honda 125 Monkey, Revell 70 Charger RT, Revell 70 Mustang Mach1, Revell 77 Firebird, Vendo pop machine from AMT Tip Top Shop kit, Moebius 65 Ford long bed aka The Italian truck, Great Dane extendable flat bed trailer. AMT 519 Kenworth W925, and a 1:72 Airfix P51D.

Nice work all around. I'm not a huge fan of early Camaros, but this one just looks right. Beautiful paint and foil work.

Revell 77 Firebird. Decent kit, went together well, the "flares" on the body coulda been done better. The rear were square at the bottom and a bit too wide, a bit of sanding took care of that. Too bad they didn't add the Trans am decals. My sister had a 77 Trans am 30 or so years ago, so built this to replicate her car. It didn't have T tops so I just glued them in place and painted the top. Built box stock, no under hood detail, it's just gonna sit in a plastic case forever. Thinking I'll give it to my sister. This is the actual car. Color is Testors light yellow, hope you like. Comments welcome.

Superb work so far. I think we're all gonna learn something watching this come together. Will be following this for sure.

That's a nice beater. Nice work on that crew cab conversion keeping everything straight and square. Times have really changed. I remember back in the 70s and 80s the only owners of crew cab trucks were the military, the forest service and the railroad. If you somehow ended up with one of those, you were stuck with it. You couldn't give one away. In the summer of '19 I went shopping for a truck, walked in and said I want a regular cab long bed truck. They all looked at me like I was from another planet. Needless to say I had to settle for an extra cab short bed. That dump bed is a nice touch also, cant beat that for doing yard work and hauling.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I'm hoping to make some good progress on this over the next few days. This has been a fun build/experiment so far. But I always consider every model I do an experiment and a learning experience.

Looks great! On the 1:1 tractor that pulls a frameless dump the fifth wheel on the truck is pinned to keep the hitch plate flat and to keep it from rocking back and forth. Excellent scratch building going on here!
Brian, thanks for that tip. I haven't been up close and personal with one of these. Still gotta do a bit more research here, sort of making it up as I go.

Looks great. You captured that workhorse look real nice. Trailers look good also, I especially like the car hauler. That rusty header pipe is a nice touch too.

That turned out nice. I picked up one of these at Hobby Lobby a few years back, they were practically giving them away. Like the rest of the pile, I'll get to it one of these days, or maybe years.

Looks great all around. Strange how the exhaust appears to come up through the bed floor, custom option with stacks coming up behind the cab? Would be nice if they could scare up the tooling for this kit. I would be good for a couple.

I went to Hobby Lobby this afternoon, it was a mob scene. Found this 1/16 57 Chevy kit. Too bad they didn't brace up the windshield frame as well on the 57 T Bird kit. Looks like a good kit overall.

I still want a XJ Cherokee in styrene, about the only thing older that the XJ I’d be interested in at this point would be a Tucker 48.
I'm with you on the XJ. Surprised no one ever kitted them up. You would think it would be a good seller.

I know what you mean about this kit. This was the first truck I butchered when I was a young 'un back in the early 70s. Wish I still had all my old models from back then, but like most of us they met their demise with fireworks. But now that I am older and supposedly wiser I just finished up an original W925 kit I scored at a swap meet. It does have some short comings but with a bit of work/re engineering here and there they can look good. It should look good in Plum Crazy, just something about a big purple truck, and I mean that in a good way. These AMT truck kits are not that bad overall, you do have the internet now which is the best tool ever for model building. Will check in here from time to time and see how it's coming along. Have fun...

Hello gang, I finally made a bit more progress on my end dump. Got the plate and pivot points for the king pin sorted, don't know the technical term for it. I know it's not entirely accurate but have been going off of some less than stellar photos I found off the net. Guess you can call it artistic license. Still have a long way to go on it but I am happy with how it's coming along so far. Just glad I actually got it to work. Still have to add a couple gussets on the king pin plate and make cross braces for the sub frame. Also need to do something about the cylinder, need one with an extra stage. Hoping to come up with one that actually telescopes. I was hoping to have it done by the end of the year but that is kinda doubtful. It looks to have a good stance when mounted to the tractor, I hope this is 3/4 of the battle. Hope to have more updates over the next couple weeks. As always, comments or suggestions welcome.

Very nice work. That Pennzoil car must really pop out in the sunlight.
