  1. BTW: I just saw Korn & Slipknot last Saturday in N.J. Wow....... ????
  2. The problems the 914 had out-weighed any benefits. In 1980 rear brake calipers were $350, and they would seize-up with rust if they got wet..... Plus the Flexi-flyer sensation of chugging around inches off the pavement in a rust bucket (at least up here in NYC) made fir some thrilling rides. But I was so into Air Cooled German cars back then it didn't matter.
  3. Rich would get a ? too....
  4. We need a LIKE button.....
  5. Glad to see all is normal! Yes, between work, the Holidays, and family I've been elsewhere. I have a Holiday gift I have to finish do my WIP threads will start later today. And don't get me started on Its a Wonderful Life. I find Mr. Potter's reference to the Italian-Americans as " Garlic Eaters" rather racist. Imagine substituting different food and race today?
  6. I would alternate between Octane, First Wave, Watercolors, Hair Nation, and Liquid Metal.
  7. Must have music. I have music at work, car, garage, house and hobby room. Selection ranges from Jazz to Metal. Enter at your own risk.....
  8. That's great Rich, go for it!
  9. I worked for Porsche/Audi in the late 70's and remember the 4 cylinder versions well. NEVER raise one up with a door open. If you raise it on a lift with the roof panel off you run the risk of the top not going back on! And when the battery overcharged & leaked, it was directly over the R/S suspension pivot. But a nice 4 cyl. 2 liter with Webers and headers was a fun car! It would be nice to see this return. I vote for it.
  10. LOL!!! And we're back on-topic! My fellow car club members are a bit put-off about the prices my shop charges for work they feel is too expensive. These are people whom (for the most part…) can do it themselves and think it's too much to pay. Same story, different situation. When we re-built our house in 2010 I bought a table saw instead of paying someone to cut wood. But I paid a lot of money for cement work, which I can't do, and was VERY expensive. When you want, and you can't do, and are willing to pay……you get.
  11. I just popped in and see we had some issues. Hope all is well now.....
  12. If you got paid $38 an hour and worked a 40 hour week it would be $1,500. Now of course, I wouldn't pay that kind of money, but someone whom can't build their own, and has emotional attachment to the subject, will spend. Provided they have the means without sacrifice. Honestly, how fast can a build of that quality be completed? That's the missing piece of the price debate.....
  13. And since its been politely addressed, I agree, your lady friend is adorable. Hope she's as attractive personally!
  14. I remember coming home from high school and my Mother handing me the envelope. I remember the elation when I felt the thickness, as opposed to the single sheet of paper saying " no way....." in the failure notice. First thing I did was ask Dad for the car and go pick up my then girlfriend. Pure magic that memory..... And I had the same issue with insurance. Many a V-8 Vega or Pinto roamed about registered, and insured, as 4 cylinders
  15. Great job! It's inspiration for me.
  16. Wow! That's like hitting the lottery!
  17. Funny, I just found out I start final-assembly on a '66 Mustang convertible in the morning. It's s weird one: MASSIVE sheet metal & floor pan panel replacement, Hot Rod black primer, 6 cylinder, drum brakes, TREMEC FIVE SPEED, stock wheels, hubcaps. BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH Mustangs are everywhere in my shop. I'm learning them!
  18. Yeah.... It IS beautiful! One of the nicer Hot Rods I've ever seen. Nothing looks questionable and the attention to detail is stunning. My Boss says it drives REAL nice!
  19. OK, I come into work the other day and I find this parked in one of the bays. All I know is it was assembled by a shop in Indiana and they did a fantastic job. It's a 1969 Mustang on a 2008 Mustang chassis. This thing was gutted like a model car body and dropped onto a late model Mustang chassis. This car is not only fuel injected with a Tremec, but has ABS, air bags, and every creature comfort of a new car. The INTERIOR is all 2008! It's in for minor suspension issues and some partial paint touch-up. Check it out…...
  20. Wow! That's really nicely done! Thanks for posting.
  21. Same two things made me & my Wife chuckle! The 4 MPH chase was priceless!
  22. I use SEM etching primer. It gets a really good bite into the material. I've had good results as it goes on thick enough to sand, but not obscure detail. Once I get it level I'll shoot some Tamiya white primer, then the Pink. Good to hear you've been working on the wrecker. It's an awesome piece of workmanship much like Bill's Hemi Cuda.
  23. …………. http://www.hotrod.com/news/official-ken-block-gymkhana-7-video/?adbid=10152387118507540&adbpl=fb&adbpr=13601527539&sm_id=social_aumohotrodsshub_default_20141117_35735467
  24. * I may have to amend this build list to include a Gasser for next years NNL East theme. And boy do I have an original idea…….
  25. Joe, that 8-wheeled Deora-based transporter is absolutely INSANE. More pictures please!
