Nice! I have a half-started `69 HUG in the stash somewhere…. Hmmmm. Maybe I'll add that to the pile.

I had to go look at it a second time. Beautiful…...

Got my new licence plate today : )

Both plates are good! Nice creative choices guys! -
I've been a musician for over 40 yrs and know all about copyrights. What's new is the sudden rise in lawsuits. There's no more lucrative record company hustles, no more radio paying full royalties, satellite pays less.... Pandora pays even less. The scene is changing and they're scrambling..... the "record industry" is going away.

It just seems so easy to do (in comparison to full car kits) yet so elusive! Frustrating almost…. I look at a Ross Gibson engine kit and visualize all that resin re-arranged to look like a ______ motorcycle. Similar engineering, similar sized package, similar amour of material, similar market segment, if not more. I've paid for those R-G engine kits and would pay the same money for a comparatively detailed Hard Tail or early Knuckle Head. Not to knock the R-G engine kits, but just making the engineering / material amount comparison. And I'm sure as Harry mentioned licensing would be a costly necessity. Again, it's frustrating….. On a similar subject: Nine local club owners on Long Island are being sued over non-payment of royalties from having cover-bands play recorded material live without permission. THAT'S what our society has sunk to as far as cash-grabs in the name of compensation. You can play a song on You Tube all day, but don't pick up an instrument and play it live for, more often than not, free…..

Why? Why don't we have these? The ancient Revell pieces are neat, but why isn't there contemporary versions? 1/25 scale bikes would be a very good seller in my opinion. As opposed to a car/truck kit, the parts count is a fraction, yet you could sell them profitably because IT'S A WIDE OPEN MARKET. Imagine a 4 bike kit of old H-D's, an Ariel, Vincent, etc… Or a Katana, Ninja, a GSR…. Or a variety of Harley's & Buells? Imagine someone like Mobius tackling this? I know… I know….pinch me, I'm dreaming!

Attended a show out on Bald Hill in Suffolk County this morning. Saw a few interesting rides, but was absolutely amazed at how many Mustangs and Camaro's were in attendance. I mean, a comically disproportionate amount. I counted FIVE Mopars in the entire show, yet with no exaggeration there were well over 75 of each. There were close to 25 Cadillacs alone parked in a row! But here's a few goodies I spotted. Throw a nondescript 20's era body on an International Scout frame and instant all wheel drive hot rod. For those who enjoy the crusty side of the show field….. X-Large crusty….. Sectioned so much the A/C compressor is higher than the hood line…… And a few of our customers stopped by with their cars we built. One more at the infamous Belmont Park (Belmont Stakes site…) next weekend and that's it for the season. The 2014 cruise season comes to an end for us out here.

I saw Jack this past May I think it was. He did one night at BB Kings House of Blues in Manhattan. I went by myself so I could be totally absorbed in his playing. Cindy Blackmon on drums, Vernon Reed on Guitar, and I forget the Keys player. They did an entire show of old Tony Williams tunes. Strictly vintage Jazz. Then he came out for an encore and melted everyones faces……he did about a half dozen Cream tunes. Awesome. I feel so fortunate to have seen my childhood idol whom inspired me to become a Bassist. Granted, he was a bit unsteady and he really didn't look well, but his voice was still there. And his Bass playing wasn't too shabby either for a 70 yr. old…….. I just wished he slid behind the piano and did Theme to an Imaginary Western instead of just playing Bass. That would have made the night pure magic.

Cream Bassist Jack Bruce passed away. One of the original Bassist that had an in your face approach to playing. His musicianship spanned decades and he was my influence as a child. R.I.P. Jack

Finally cleaned off the workbench
FASTBACK340 replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, model building has definitely become seasonal with me. The 1:1 hobby gets in the way.... Plans call for: Finishing the Pink Hemi-Cuda 'Vert Replica of my '68 Baja Bug And maybe a vintage F/E rail..... Let the building begin! -
Finally cleaned off the workbench
FASTBACK340 replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For example: I never glued in the engine, mounted tail lights, or made a drag link. Done…. I also re-did the roof. The final touch is the radiator hoses, which I'll do tomorrow. My super-glue dried out. This was a fun build. Now to touch-up some BMF work on the Barracuda and install a radiator cap. And my 2 entries for the LIARS show will be ready. WEEKS in advance. -

Greg, the very first picture at the top: that thing running a Chrysler cross ram? Either way, I like the more-door rods. -
Cleaned up the work area and actually started a project. I had built a Woody 2 years ago and kinda threw it together for NNL East. I'm finally gluing the engine in and fastening the body. The LIARS show is in a few weeks and I wanted to finish-up a few things. I also have to clean up the '68 Barracuda. As soon as I get the Woody & `Cuda sorted I'll tackle that `70 Cuda from last year (when they were topical….). Here we go gang, time to build.

I always loved that kit…. beautiful build!

Absolutely beautiful work Harry! All the tiny little brass details on the trunk really add realism. Really unique subject too!

I just scrolled through this build and wow, what a nice job! I was planning on using the Tamiya `66 under Norn's new resin Baja, but I might have to grab one of these and compare the underpinnings…. You definitely got my attention with all the detail-painting you've done. That interior looks great, especially the dash. Nice workmanship Geoff!

What an incredible commuter car that would be…..absolutely incredible. For New York at least.
