  1. so essentially the revell kit hood / cleaner set up is correct. Thanks.
  2. Did all of these lift off hoods come with the 'Air Grabber' on bottom, assuming the 440 six pack set up? I noticed the Revell kit does not come with an Air Grabber, various AMT kits have it, but in 1/25 scale.
  3. Here's an easy way to bring out details: drybrush a lighter color (lite grays or metallics are good choices) after your darker base color is dry. Simply dip your flat paintbrush in the color of choice and dry the brush off in towel. Soon as the color disappears, gently brush against the high points of your darker painted object (say an engine) and you'll soon see all of the detail (the dry brush actually is not dry). Easy to use on flat painted objects: seats, dashboards, engines, chassis. Used a lot by military guys, car guys should use more often. Don't think it will work well with gloss painted bodies, I would not use on bodies. Good luck!
  4. Any kits or after market sources for 1/24 Mopar steel wheels (0r non mopar for that matter), for the revell 69 superbee tires which have a rather large wheel size (the wheels in the kit barely fit the tires)? The 1/25 68 charger steel wheels are just too small.
  5. Kit includes fender skirts, they fit pretty well, also there are 2 air cleaners, isn't one of them stock??
  6. The wheels, magnum & racing types, don't fit the tires as they are too small. I tried other wheels, but no fit at present, seems the tires (and kit) are 24th scale. Any remedies? 24th scale revell (Mopar) kits that have larger wheels?
  7. You also get rear axle lowering parallel leaves, tonneau cover, and the pad printed wwall radial tires (great) for the sombrero wheels. The decals are scallop style, as seen on the box. Again major issue is the chrome: removal, flash, and wavey uneveness in some areas. I am doing full build review for IPMS national website, hopefully be done in next month or so. http://web.ipmsusa3.org/
  8. I've got one, but not pics. Good kit, body & chassis both excellent. Chrome is shakey, with large stub attachments (sombreros, be very careful)and some flash. Engine is good, some flash on small parts. The pad printed wwalls are excellent!!! Decals are well done. Custom parts include the sombreros, decals, engine option, & skirts. I'd buy another.
  9. Just got the Willys pick up from Drag City Casting and it's a great smooth casting with excellent drip lines, door panels, no warpage. Blows the others away (I've got 2 others), great job Ed. Steve Z. Maybe a chopped version?
  10. I was at the website, and noticed a new 41 Willys pickup body, 40 Willys body/hood and 41 flip nose body. Any one bought one of these or existing bodies?
  11. George, thanks!
  12. Were the chassis flat black or red oxide or gray? or Other? Any over-spray? Were suspension parts typically black? This is for 62 T-bird. Thanks for info.
  13. Looks like the convert has 2 sets of tires....per the on line shop, but not the HT. ??
  14. Gotta agree Harry, looks like a 64Falcon to my eyes. I'd recommend a real 3/1 kit at the $40 price, stock, street custom, and racing, with 2 engine options, if we are to pay $40. I think this is the real objection that the critics have with the kit.
  15. What type of whitewalls: inserts or decals? Wish the parallel leaves were separate from the axle, so you could lower stance if desired. LOOKS COOL!
  16. Looks very much like a modern Rev. kit, I'd buy at a lower price, as the Falcon name does not knock me off my feet.
  17. For build ups look at hyperscale, aircraft resource center, and modeling madness. MM has in depth kit buildups. Good Luck!
  18. I've noticed that many Revell wheels, especially their best racing style 'mags' from these kits: 64Tbolt, 67&69 charger, 32 ford, 41 willys, etc. won't fit AMT slicks or my Modelhaus resin slicks as they are too big. Are the Revell wheels modeled after larger 1:1 wheels or is it a different molding technique? (I was trying to fit the revell wheels into a modelhaus whitewall slick for an old school look) Thanks, Steve.
  19. That's real nice work on scratch building the springs, better than the PE. Thanks.
  20. Anyone try MAS working leaf spring? I'm more interested in "non working", but how is fit for most cars? Need to trim?
  21. This is a great kit except for the auto tranny stalk on the steering column. Would rather go with a console (from where?) and possibly convert tranny (from where?) to manual. Could console be eliminated altogether? Thanks guys!
  22. 20th big show, all types of models, cars included. Lots of vendors. $5 (cheap) for walk ins. Steve Z. IPMS_Flyer_MCF_Front_Back_2011_0309.pdf
  23. Donn, thanks, I think the entire 41 Willys frame would fit under the 59 vette chassis when the spare tire compartment is cut out. The straight axle from the Willys is the right length.
  24. I've read the reliable resin technique to cut away the upper A arm from the frame bottom (59 mono vette kit). The lower A arm is then attached to the upper A arm that was removed. The combo is then re-glued to the frame bottom with no further alteration (it seems). Don't know what I am missing, but I think you need to put a 'block' (Mazmanian used wood blocks apparently, I'd use sprue) between the frame and the A arms before you re-attach. Is this the techinique? I'd like to hear about a technique that worked for you (or maybe I should just use the Maz 41 Willys frame instead) thanks.
  25. My kit has the no name tires, but the box art has a name on sidewall that's not legible. Anybody know the tire name and type? I'd like to get Shabos or some decals. Thanks.
