I'm trying my best to glue on the chrome side trim without much luck. Early this morning I glued the very thin chrome strips on with white Elmers glue so as not to mess up one of my best paint jobs. A few minutes ago I tried to clean off a little excess glue and the trim popped right off. Before I pull out what little hair I have left can anyone give any tips on the correct way to do this? Thanks, Bob

If I remember correctly before he died he had planned on retiring from driving and had a deal with Stag beer to promote their products. Way back in the 60's I bought the Fred Lorenzen 65 Galaxie planning to build a car with Stag livery thinking that might have been a possibility had he lived. My question is do any of you have any idea where I might find Stag beer decals? I've looked at all the possibilities I can think of with no luck and I'm not computer savvy enough to make my own. Thanks, Bob

BMF, stepping up my game
Bob Warfield replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Brian I think it looks as good or better than a lot of them I see. I haven't done any BMF in many years but am working on some projects that will need it. I'm not looking forward to it. Did you use an Xacto knife or a scalpel to cut it? Thanks...Bob -
I want to add a vinyl top to a 53 Ford. I cut styrene to .010 X .020 for the seems. My question is, how would you go about gluing down such small strips? I'm sure it'll have to be CA glue as the top has been primed with Testers flat black. Any ideas? Thanks...Bob

Another Dupli-Color primer ?
Bob Warfield replied to Bob Warfield's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Actually I used Evercoat Easy Sand which is a 2 part filler. I've used this filler for more than 20 years along with my trusted Pasche model H air brush. I've been retired for over 2 years now but before that I repaired fiberglass bathtubs full time for more than 20 years. Never had any trouble with the Evercoat. Thanks...Bob -

I did do some filling with Evercoat glazing putty and the body was quite wavy as well. Thanks...Bob -
Another Dupli-Color primer ?
Bob Warfield replied to Bob Warfield's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Bill, I first used the white, DAP 1689. I noticed I still had a few very minor scratches showing after sanding with 400 so I decided to try the scratch filler DAP 1700. Neither primer dried very hard as it gummed up my sandpaper. Last night I sprayed it with Testers flat black thinned with lacquer thinner and left it in the dehydrator over night. This morning the paint is nice and hard. I'm going to try some 1,000 paper on it in a bit and see what happens. Thanks...Bob IMG_1620.MOV -
I ran out of my beloved Plasti Kote primer a week ago. After reading way too many threads on here I decided to try the Dupli-Color. Working on a 53 Ford, body was washed in warm soapy water after sanding with 600. I sprayed it in my 70* basement, 45 - 50% humidity and left in the dehydrator over night. This primer gums up my sandpaper just like the Testers enamel used to and just feels soft to me. I never had that problem with Plasti Kote. Anyone else experience this? Thanks...Bob

Taking a break from working on a 40 Ford jalopy stock car. So I was in the basement drilling holes in the engine for header tubes and was thinking the whole time "I hate this". Only 3 pipes on each side of the engine, I know it's correct but I can't stand them. One of the things that peaked my interest in race cars as a kid where the headers on the late Jimmy Clarks Ford Lotus. I always did love a plate full of spaghetti so -

Aluminum wheels question
Bob Warfield replied to Bob Warfield's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks so much Roger. I've looked all over the internet for some and no luck. Pegasus Hobbies website is down, of course. I guess I'll try to call them Monday. Any other ideas? Thanks...Bob -
I've been watching a lot of videos on You Tube trying to refresh myself on the latest products out there. Watching a Donn Yost video the other night he had a machined aluminum outer rim and a resin wheel center. He didn't say where they came from. The wheel was one of the old gray spoke mags popular in the 70's. Any help on locating these parts would be much appreciated. Thanks...Bob

Thanks guy's I appreciate the welcome. I'm currently trying to build a 40 Ford coupe jalopy that I remember from the 60's. Trifocals and model building is going to take a while to get used to.

Sorry I've been searching this forum for a couple hours trying to find a dealer that sells the old 8 lug hubs/wheels like they used on dirt track cars back in the 50's and 60's. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi, my name is Bob Warfield. Getting back into the hobby after a 40 year absence. I've already found that my eyes aren't nearly as good as they where back then.
