Just followed up the whole thread, impressive work on taking this kit to the finish line @David G.. I snuck over to the big rig forum and spent some time looking through your builds over there, I wanted to do a tractor and hauler for years and fill it with my favourite hot rods. I’m inspired by that combo and have started the search for the amt Haul away and a suitable tractor! keep up the great work!

Off to a fine start there Bill, chop looks perfect!

@bill-e-boy that’s a neat way to do a shifter, my stash of decent levers is depleting at a rapid rate. I don’t have a “War Dept “ to raid so I’ll have to go visit a craft store! 😜

That was the duplicolour white on the body in the pic above, I found it to be a bit milky compared to Tamiya, but I’m thinking my temps were not perfect. It covered white plastic just fine and it did fill some of the fine sanding scratches that were there. That was only one coat on there, once I make some corrections to the body I’ll let you know how the following coats go.

Trying out the duplicolour primer, yes it’s white, has its pros and cons compared to the now unavailable Tamiya (Canada). It’s been a fairly damp spring so hard to time a painting day that works. I have another body done with the same primer and will test Tamiya paint over it( yes I know many, many others have had success) don’t really want to beans it up! Had a family of squirrels in the bench recently and it got a bit crazy. Hoping to have the engine/chassis/drivetrain all buttoned up by the end of Easter weekend! Stay tuned, Like/Share/Sunscribe oh waitaminnuttet this ain’t noobtoob! til next time!

The 34 looks just about right!

Now if only someone could do a proper proportioned 33/34 3 window coupe! 3d printing is changing the hobby in leaps and bounds.

Ooooooooooooooh I like this a lot!

I’ve used the adaptor plate from the revell Anglia and Thames dragsters(usually on the Oldsmobile engines) to add the Lasalle gearboxes to my flathead builds, I really should look into resin casting some of these for my stash. They look the part! But I’m sure a ford on a ford would not require as much work. -
Well seeing as how you have resurrected this old build, I’m inclined to comment on it! The previous work done on the wheels and lights is outstanding, the interior is superb, really like the argyle l, you mentioned a grey colour as a possible for the exterior but imo( as humble as it may be) I think a white or off white would suit it more.

I can agree on the blandness of the kit transmission haha. But we can both attest to the fact that it will only be seen from the bottom, so weighing your options vs time and effort. I’m guilty of spending to much time on the guts for accuracy! -

Nice print, I don’t think is so much going to be able to “stuff” the engine in, it’s more the gearbox and tail shaft length that will be the issue. -
Looks good so far Len! It takes time and practice to get the look just right, you can also use brushes to give I different texture. I bought some cheap rough bristle brushes from a craft store.

That’s some tidy surgery Paul, I’m always impressed with your subtle modifications to your builds!

That turned out great Greg!

Playing with plastic again! Trying out some potential next builds. The cabriolet/roadster might be a go. -

Impressive build of a tough kit, I have a set of the decals stashed away to possibly go on a foose pickup. -
Well at long last I have completed my version of the venerable 29 closed cab pickup, inspired by a tribute thread but chose not to go the 80’s billet rod way. I started with the 1982 “Hot Rod” version. Having built a couple of the early Revell kit line from the 60’s I know I was in for some fiddly parts and assembly, but that’s never scared me off from these vintage molds. Check the build thread for the details. The finished pics are below with some additional along the way pics featuring my original oob build from the rat rod series. Thanks for looking!

I’m down for any 32 build! -
And I’m over here doing the reverse, putting a 31 clip on a 29 truck cab lol! Nice work @Kit Karson
