1:12 scale Ferrari 312T
AL. replied to JohnnyK's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
I do like to add a lot of detail to 1:12 scale models Johnny. (see my Brabham BT44b) much of which I prefer to make myself. On that subject, may I ask where you got the 1:12 scale hose clamps from please? Also I had to have a little chuckle to myself about your confusion over the seat/seatbelts....... I'ts just the sort of thing I could see myself doing. Enthusiasim getting ahead of reason!! ? -
Thanks Dave,. I have four other 1:12 F1 kits to do too.

Johnny, this is fabulous work, well done mate and keep at it. I've just bought one of these myself and will be starting it when I finish my 1:12 Matra MS11, so i'm looking forward to gaining some inspiration from yours. -
Hey Josh, thanks for that. Got it done now as you can see. Now it;s time for me to scratch your back: Top right corner, click on the little down arrow. This opens a ne box. Click on Account Settings. in the new screen that opens, over on the left you will see a black box that has Overview written in it. Underneath that, click on 'signature' This opens a 'posting box' in which you can place your siggy. Then click 'Save' and you are there.??

Hi all, New here, so can anyone tell me how to add an avatar please? Cheers, Al.

I built this one a few years ago. Can't remember the maker Revell?) but it's 1:24/1:25. I added all the various pipes and wires under the bonnet and all the junk in the cab/sleeper.

Apologies to the powers that be but I have this in the wrong section. Could someone delete it or tell me how to delete it please? Thanks. This is the kit I wanted to build when I built my vac formed Belly Tanker last year. And this is how it can look when built: However, both upper and lower tanks halves, in my kit were banana shaped: But with help and advice from members here and on another site, I was able to make an acceptable 'straightening'. It's not perfect yet and it may be as good as it gets, but it is at least acceptable. Before I straightened it, I put it back in it's box and when I closed the lid, I heard a distinct crack. Yup! it had broken across the axle line in the lower half. However, with luck and a fair wind, I think I can make a decent repair. It will need reinforcing though.

I don't know what happening here but I just tried to post the finished model here a couple of minutes ago and suddenly this appeared for a secon time. Sorry guys but it too needs to be deleted. I won't post the completed model until both of these have been delted. Don't want to screw it up again!!! This is the kit I wanted to build when I built my vac formed Belly Tanker last year. This is my first WIP here. Got some basic clean up and a little construcion done: The fit of this air intake was attrocious with nothing to glue it too so I had to add some thin strips of styrene to give it some support and of course now it will need a little filler before spraying.

Been a member here for some time but never posted before. That is about to change since I have just started a 1:12 Matra MS11. In the meantime here is my completed Brabham BT44b, complete with 'race worn' tyres. I put quite a lot of scratch built/made extra detail into it too.

Hi all, I'm resident in the North of England, UK and been buidling models on and off most of my life. I got back into it really seriously abot 19 years ago and since then have competed about 250. Mostly cars of various genre, but also some aircraft, miltary vehicles, (softskins and AFV) and a few dioramas. Again military. Been signed up for some time but never posted for some reason. However that's about to change. I build a wide variety of cars up to about the end of the 1970's. Race mostly but road also, in scales from 1:35 uo to 1:12. However I'm getting on a bit in years now and my arthritic hands and failing eyesite means, in the smaller scales (1;24 an below) I now need to build only curbside. But I have enough 1:12 scale kits to keep me going for some time, so omwards and upwards. In a few minutes I'm going to post my completed Tamiya 1:12 Brabham BT44b on Martini Livery. Hope you guys like it. See you around. Al.
