  1. I might have to use that on an upcoming 66 project I’m working on
  2. That stance is mean. Is the paint metallic? It looks similar to the 66 corvette mosport green.
  3. That turned out great, really like the color. I’ve got a couple of these lined up, Does this issue have hollow or solid tires?
  4. I was digging through my parts bin the other day and realized I have most of the parts that I could possibly make a 1973 corvette. I know they pop up on eBay every once in a while but their usually in the $40-$80 range. But I have an AMT 1970 body and a MPC front bumper and optional hood with the hole in the middle, and a few good revell chassis’s. I’m pretty sure I want to make a 454 4speed coupe so as long as the parts all fit (which from test fitting all looks very promising) I should be able to make one fairly easy. I’m at a blank on color combo tho, I know I don’t want blue or yellow. Red is a possibility or hunter green. And being that I don’t have the correct hood I modified the hood with a hole in it by adding an L88 scoop. It’s kinda roughed in right now but it looks like the panels are going to line up good
  5. I got the GTS painted, I like the pearl look, but I kinda wish it was a bit lighter. But I think it will look better after polishing. Now I’m just hoping the headlights line up?
  6. After test fitting the windows I realized there is no way to attach them without getting glue on the body, so I made some channels out of some .020 styrene. After that I reset the body on both cars and lined up the bumpers to the hood.
  7. I’m gonna try to revive this project, it’s been sitting for a little over a year, but I think I can manage to complete them now. I’m thinking I’ve decided to paint the rt/10 bright orange/brown. And the gts black pearl/Napa red interior.
  8. I think I’m going to build an engine on a stand and display it next to the car, in a cutaway form, or partially assembled. I wanted to leave one of the heads removable but there just isn’t a whole lot of room to pull it off and on, but I think an engine on a stand would look better, I’m thinking of doing the L88 and L71, the AMT 57 corvette street machine has a really nice set of big block heads with rockers molded in them.
  9. Love that color combo
  10. It’s createx pearl blue mixed with pearl silver and pearl white, mixing ratio was 45% blue 45% silver and 10% white, over VHT flat aluminum
  11. This started as a glue bomb I picked up off eBay a while back, it had some issues along the way, I had to replace a few parts from the parts bin. But all in all I’m very pleased with the results.
  12. I’m calling this one complete, the blue is a bit darker than my original target, but I’m pretty happy with the results.
  13. I finally got the body recleared after having to touch up the burn. The frame and firewall are complete, just waiting for the body to cure then it’s time for final assembly. The finish line is in sight for this one.??
  14. I got a few from hobby lobby, and I ordered a bunch of odd colors from rangerink.com. I’m still trying to figure out the best glue to use, Elmer’s white glue works okay, just the powder flakes off if you handle it to much tho, gorilla wood glue holds strong but is shiny. I think I’m going to try mixing gorilla glue with some water base dull coat next time. The Cuda is ranger copper brown and the corvette is ranger royal blue,
  15. I got the rear suspension about done still have to do the brakes, I found that 3/16 nickel plated washers make very good dust shields on these solid wheel backs, just have to make some caliper backs and finish the brake lines.
  16. Got 90% of the front suspension done, still have to install the sway bar, I got the coil springs built and put the green tag on them, along with the shocks. Now just letting the glue set before I go any farther.
  17. I have got most of the suspension painted, still working on the final details for the rear and I need to make the front coil springs.
  18. Sorry for the long delay I’ve been a bit under the weather for the last week or so. But I did manage to make a new paint rack?, I’ll have an update on the corvette in the next day or so.
  19. Looks amazing, I really like the color, and the stance.
  20. Update on the paint touch up, the blend cured really well, and isn’t very noticeable my next day off is Tuesday so hopefully I will get some clear back on it.?
  21. Thanks, I was looking at photoetch pulleys but they’re pretty pricey for what you get, I just happened to see these at Walmart one day, for $3 you get 3 sizes in black or silver
  22. I had I bit of a minor set back, I painted and cleared the body, and after it dried I noticed a big speck of dirt on the top of the fender, so as I was trying to sand it smooth with some 3600 paper it broke through. I touched it up with my airbrush, the paint blended fantastic, I really like using this createx and wicked colors paint, I just have to let it cure till my next day off and then I can re-clear it and hopefully I won’t have anymore issues. Fingers crossed
  23. I glued the inner fenders in the wheel wells of the body and painted the inside flat black, then did a quick mock up with the body on the frame to make sure everything would go together properly. After that I rechromed the bumpers, wheels and exhaust.
  24. Thanks, I think I went through about 20 different gauges of wire before I found these. It’s 36 gauge but it’s an off brand I got on eBay, I got 30 yards for $10
