  1. Cleaning the surface before painting is the key to insure a perfect paint job on any surface, whether it be wood or metal, coming from years of experience spraying precatilyzed lacquer finishes in a cabinet shop.
  2. Hug the toilet is what used to occur after a long night of drinking beer and high proof alcohol.

  6. Kid is what I was once too, and if I have my way, which I do, I'm in no hurry to grow up yet.
  7. I really appreciate your compliment Sean. I believe you're correct in recalling it being in the Model Craftsman magazine, it was a long time ago.. lol. I used to get both magazines back in the day. I never tossed out anything so I still have my magazines along with a multitude of hard back railroad books packed away in the garage. Model railroading has become way to expensive for me, and I doubt that I'll ever finish them, but I'd be more than happy to gift them to someone who would be interested in incorporating them into their layout. If you and the misses get to attend the swap meet, have a grand time.
  8. Oops..I thought I deleted my post accidentally but after rewriting it again and posting it, it was magically there.. so I deleted it and let the new version stand. πŸ€”Β°Β° It may be time for this old bird to go to bed..πŸ₯΄

  10. Thank you Sean.. my original layout was a 4Γ—8 plywood table consisting of an oval track with one siding for the passenger station. It had a few plastic glue type assembled structures and painted grass and roads. I grew tired of it pretty quickly and decided to go with a 2Γ—2, 2Γ—4 grid platform in a J-shape with approximately 300 feet of nickel silver flex track with nickel silver switches and crossings. It had one mainline and two other separate tracks. One functioning as a coal line and the other as a freight line. The tracks were all working well with the occasional irk now and then. I started constructing some of the wire mesh and plaster scenery but never finished it due to my new hobby that popped up, girls.. unfortunately the hobby got put on hold. I had scratchbuilt the roundhouse, coaling tower, a wooden trestle bridge that was to be placed over a deep gorge and a few other misc buildings. I also started scratchbuilding the main attraction, the mountain side coal facility fashioned after one I had seen in a Railroad Modeler Magazine issue. I still have the trestle and the unfinished coal facility but unfortunately the other structures are long gone. I've attached photos of the two structures I still possess. Sorry not the best quality photography.
