  1. Tub is finally in the body.... The clear coat has been sanded with 6k, 8k, 10k, and 12k wet. Hasn't been ceramic coated yet.
  2. Very good information!!! I wish I seen this while I was working on my Chevrolet Pickup Truck. I had to test fit everything as I built.
  3. Mockup..... 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser with 18 inch Rallies.
  4. Shot Splash Paints 2k Clear this afternoon.... 20230208_124443.mp4 20230208_124532.mp4 First video is in the sun, Second video is in the shade. Now to let it fully cure so I can sand her down.
  5. The dashboard is finally ready for the interior tub. 20230207_155039.mp4
  6. Okay, after looking at my test spoons shot with a couple of different color pearls, I've decided to leave the Tropical Glitz "Coral Reef" base coat alone and shoot 2k clear right over it. Thanks everyone for your input ?
  7. Another test fit....
  8. So, I mentioned that I would change up the dash just a little bit. I really wanted to bring it to about 1979 with a Cassette Deck..... Not everyone will agree with this, but I like it. I'll probably throw a Cassette tape on the trans hump or something.....
  9. Yes, I've been testing on spoons. I haven't decided if I want any flakes or pearl to the base coat yet. And yes, leaving it as is is also a real option. ?
  10. Thanks, I'm changing up the dash a little....
  11. More interior stuff....
  12. Took a break from this build to do Tom Daniel's Red Baron. Now the 59 Cadillac is back on the board. First up, finish up what I can on the chassis, then on to the interior
  13. Just finished the Tom Daniel's Red Baron build. What a fun kit to build. Used a few aftermarket parts to make it look better, but kept it as true to Tom Daniel's original concept as possible. I love the look of the 1914 Mercedes Benz airplane motor!
  14. The Red Baron is pau....see pics in the finished thread. Thanks for following ✌️
  15. Everything that is chrome in this pic I painted with SMS.....
  16. Almost there, just have to print some decals for the tires.....but I'm lazy right now. ???
  17. Yes, SMS like Alclad II requires a high gloss finish as a base. I'll do a comparison next week. Stay tuned.
  18. So I decided to soak the helmet it water and the 26 year old decals came off easily. I printed up some new Iron Crosses. Good thing is, the new decals look a lot better than the old ones did. Bad thing is, the SMS chrome paint lost a lot of shine due to me handling it so much.
  19. Thanks, I got it here..... https://icemancollections.com/products/hyperchrome-chrome-cold-tone-airbrush-ready-by-sms?_pos=1&_psq=sms&_ss=e&_v=1.0 Got to make sure your base is absolutely glossy for best results.
  20. Honolulu, Oahu
  21. Four light coats of SMS HyperChrome shot at 13psi. Let dry overnight, and buffed off the excess pigment (dry spray) and cleared with Alclad II Aqua Clear. The decal looks crappy because it's like 26 years old! ? Yeah, I should have printed new ones....but it's too late now.....LoL
  22. Topped the base with Splash Paints 2k Clear.
