  1. Thanks, I always knew the Supremes with the thin whitewalls was going to be the wheel and tire combo for this build.
  2. I agree, this kit does have its little quirks....but overall the Revell 49 Mercury assembles and builds very nicely. The details are very nice. Having the chassis and floorboard as separate pieces is a beautiful bonus making it easier to do custom painting under the car. Although I personally went nuts with the painting and metal flaking, this kit was really enjoyable to build.
  3. Finally standing on her own. Just a few more parts to install, and she'll be done.
  4. Body meets chassis today.....
  5. "Seductive Blue" over "Snow White" Flames are "Miami Beach" over "Snow White" with "Mutant Ooze Green" in the flame hoops. No clear coat yet. I used Lazy Modelers 1950 Ford flame mask.
  6. Dash and steering wheel painted with "Seductive Blue" over "Snow White" Box stock decals for the gauges. Hasegawa "Mirror Finish" film was used for the trim, radio, speaker grille "Slate Grey" flocking on the floor, and MOONEYES P.E. pedals. The 49 Mercury was never equipped with seatbelts.....one less thing to make! ?
  7. "Harbor Blue" and "Hull Grey" seats, "Steel Blue" flocking on the rear deck. Firewall and floorboard is covered in "Seductive Blue" over "Abyss Black" Wiring and plumbing over the stuff that was printed on by Revell
  8. Matching flake and paint on the rear diff., "Mercury Silver" on the leaf springs, SMS "Nickel" finish on the exhaust and drive shaft. Chassis and I.F.S. is covered in "Miami Beach"
  9. Silver metallic flakes used as a base. Kandy "Pineapple" on the motor, and lots of chrome. Zero fog thanks to Stevens International Maxi Cure C.A.
  10. Pretty much box stock with a few detailing here and there. Some P.E., maybe an aftermarket set of wheels, and lots of Kandy paint!

    '72 442

If memory serves me right, the 69-72 442's were the blue motors while the Cutlass, Cutlass Supreme were the gold motors. I could be wrong, and would be open to corrections. ?

As an avid fan of Oldsmobiles, if you're building a 442, the motor should be a light metallic blue, and the front fender wells should be red. But yes, a very nice build indeed! I know those side body stripes a very tricky to apply and position, you did a great job. Overall, great box stock build. ?
  13. Interior is very nice. ?
  14. Brush (on small areas like interior or motor) or spray/airbrush (on larger areas) clear paint, or even clear semigloss, or flat clear on the affected area. I've experimented with Future Finish, and it also works. Hope this helps, and works for you too. Aloha builders. ?
  15. Now that's an awesome drag car build ???
  16. So, for those of you who were asking about the AN fittings...... The small round ones, like on the valve covers and breather canister are metal beads. I like using them whenever possible because they're way cheaper than the ones I use on the fuel lines, radiator hose, heater hose.....those are made by Detail Master. They can be found pretty much anywhere online. I normally buy them through Scaleriders online shop. They come silver, so you will be painting them with clear red, clear blue, or clear gold. Those are the standard colors most AN fittings.
  17. Thank you....glad you like the build. ?
  18. No, they're from iceman Collection
  19. I make them. ✌️
  20. Pontiac Crate Motor, Honeycomb wheels, frame connector, traction bars, electric fans, trans cooler, serpentine belt and more... 20230602_201047.mp4
  21. I'm not there, but my 59 Cadillac "Naughty Girl" is there on the Street Machine table.
  22. Still not done, but it's close enough. 20230227_125559.mp4
