Thanks Rob. I was going to go with some bigger metalflake but after I tested it first on an empty tree, I just couldn't get it to look right. It looked like silver flake and clear. The gold didn't seem to come through. I wound up using Testors Extreme Lacquer, Aztec gold in a rattle can, with the same clear . After having had good results with the brown on the GMC truck. It's as close as I could get to metalflake from the 60s. I would up doing a lot of filler work and sanding on the 2 frame halves. I used a Rust-Oleum chrome look rattle can for the forks and corresponding tree. The Revell freedom chopper has this in chrome. It's almost finished so more pics to come..........

Thats how I bought it some 13 years ago. trailered it back from Baltimore. Had Tri-Power setup on it but the 4 bbl manifold was in the trunk. the roof was a little rusty. the previous owner tried to hide it under a non original vinyl top but it did come with both full GM quarters. I also threw in a '71 LeMans parts car. Have some picks on my phone that I can post when I get around to it. i

Thanks guys. Despite my many years doing this, I never reached the level as a lot of you have. I see alot of work that blows me away. I'm quit good at messing up paint and breaking alot of perfectly good parts. ? I'm certain that I can learn a lot of useful tips from all of you Thanks .

Great patina -
This is a good topic for me because most of the music I like to listen to is pretty obscure. Some that come to mind are bands like Bongwater, Exploding White Mice, Swervedriver ,the Grifters....... I like some mainstream stuff Ramones, Bowie, Replacements, Sonic Youth......

I remember that . I think he wore that shirt with the Daniel Johnston album cover on it on the MTV awards if I remember. I think I meant to post this as a new topic. I wanted to comment on the Ron Asheton band. I thought I knew everything about The Stooges. I must have just forgot about New Order. It's funny the New Order from the 80s didn't run into legal issues. ? I'm a major Stooges fan. BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH shame when Ron Asheton was found dead.

I've been listening to the debut album from Paleface. He is kind of a folk singer that was taught write and play by the late great Daniel Johnston . The album will get inside your head. You can search it on YouTube under paleface st full album. Skip Burn and rob on the album, the single version is much better?

I think it's time to tidy up the workbench. ? -
Sorry if these are too big. I still have to figure how to reduce the size.

I gotta say, this Paint comes out really nice. Also seems to cure in no time. I forgot to mention, I got the ground hawgs to line up the correct way (they were directional) but using wheels from that other '84 Gmc pickup kit (I think it's monogram). I actually got a buck that first year. 15 years old. Using my Dad's hand me down Winchester 30. 30 like the one on the rack. ?
