  1. It’s a bit slower than a candle or lighter, but not controlled. Mark Baston (hobbydude007) on YouTube did a video on the lighter a few months ago. That’s why I ordered mine
  2. That is a non flame candle lighter. It heats up the styrene slowly and avoids the "melt" that the lighter causes.
  3. Paint is done after 3 days of paint, sand, paint and sanding. Final coats down and in the dehydrator for another 24 hrs to cure. I do love Enamel, but patience is key. Scratch built the exhaust with mufflers, from VCG Resins. They look great. 8 weeks into this build, and the end is in sight!
  4. That’s the block, heads and valve covers from the 33 Willys from AMT. I love when people say AMT messed up the valve covers on the Falcon , not knowing the early ones had the plugs on the bottom. (Non-Ford people 😂)
  5. Love that kit and Falcons! Your build looks fantastic! I built this a while ago. That kit is great when builders give it the time it deserves.
  6. All evening on a new firewall. The full aluminum didn’t look right. After looking at more reference photos, thanks Ed. Milner’s was the bottom 1/2 factory and a top half aluminum skin. So, that’s what I did. And, yes I haven’t started cleaning up the windshield frame
  7. The first mock up with body on the frame and wheels in place. Like the stance. Interior is done, and started on some body work. Basement is nice and cool, enjoyable to be down here.
  8. An hour and a half of eye straining work and plug wires, boots and looms are installed correctly for a small block Chevy. This tedious work is worth it in the end.
  9. Just a little more progress tonight. The VCG Resins chain piston/chain shifter was modified with a Detail Masters Hurst shifter rod for the exact look. Dash is in, and I really have to say how much I love the Micro Mark hole punch for perfectly round gauges. Rims and tires mocked up, but still need to do valve stems and the engine block is together. Still to do all the spark pluck wiring and fuel lines. Throttle linkage too. Hard to find time in the heat of summer.
  10. The new release of the Revell 32 Roadster. The one Ollies had for 12 dollars.
  11. Hard to be motivated when it’s 90’ out and the pool calls your name daily. But, decided to scratch build an aluminum firewall. Thin and strong. Carbs, manifold and scoops are done and sprayed in Alclad. All suspension and frame painted. Moving forward
  12. Oldnyjim built this last Fall. Great bones. Love your idea on using pins for pre fit.
  13. Back on the bench tonight. Rear end, ladder bars and leaf spring done, working on the headers. Always drives me crazy to forget to add header bolts on the headers. Tichy model train company makes amazing scale bolts. Look good on suspension parts too. Tamiya panel line scriber is amazing on cleaning up the seams on headers too. The judges notice that goofy stuff.
  14. More tires arrived in the mail today! All ready for the next build!!!
  15. Slow time of year. When it’s 90+ in Western NY, hard to get motivated. But I like the ride height in the rear. Filled in the frame notches and wrong interior door jams. Slow and steady.
  16. At the stage where lots of mock ups and test fittings. Had to scratch build the front A arm to match the real one. Pretty close. So the front suspension is done and I’m happy with the look. Headers are together but need more details. Starting on the rear end ladder bars.
  17. Bobbed the frame while the putty was drying on the oil pan. Have to get the fenders on to see the correct height. So much for a stress free build. 😂
  18. Dspiae sander. Absolutely amazing tool. Got it on Amazon.
  19. Found an exact Chevy master cylinder in AMT 60 Chevy pickup kit for the actual match to the one on Milner’s. The Revell 29 Rat Rod donated the front wishbone needed. American Graffiti license plates came in today from Best Model Car parts. (THX 138)! The VCG Resins 6 carb manifold is morphing into an 4 carb Manifold. And fly tying tubing is a perfect match for the fuel lines. This is surely not an out of the box build!
  20. I guess when he is 85 and still enjoys his cars, a model seemed like a cool idea!
  21. She took first place at BuffCon in Hot Rod class!
  22. She took first place in Light Truck class at BuffCon !
  23. Josh only has the 6 carb manifold currently. But that is an easy fix.
  24. The ’81 Tamiya RX7 / Savanna is done, this build was box stock to copy my father’s current ’85 RX7. I built this for a Father's Day gift next week. (I know, this is right hand drive) This kit is from 1981 and had been sealed for 44 years! The plastic was super brittle and the roof had collapsed, but with patience I was able to warm and straighten it. The color is Mazda Sunbeam Silver (to match). This is a motorized kit, however the electric motor was eliminated, and the frame had the holes filled. Enjoy.
