  1. I know. When I posted the original post I saw I miss spelled it. Could not figure out how to correct it. It’s almost done so when I post in under glass it will be corrected
  2. The Bikini Express is a roller! Now working on the interior, probably another week. Gotta love the 8-track player in the dash!
  3. Just a teaser. First coat of Icy Blue Metallic is on. Home stretch!
  4. Lots of squaring up and taping to the jig to ensure this 45+ year old kit is straight. Ready for primer. Red plastic can be problematic when going to a lighter color. All chrome was stripped and chromed with Revell
  5. I was at a show today and a guy wanted 140 for the T-Bone kit. And it was open and started. It was still there when I left. They are out there. I only paid 30 for this and it was all there just the decals were shot.
  6. Ron Olsen on Facebook has the files and he was printing them last fall. I picked up 2 sets with Cragar wheels for them. The print is great. I know he sells the files for those wheels too.

  8. Here we go on the next build, a crazy Show Rod! The Bikini Express! A vintage Dr Krook Patient Pending kit. 70’s Covair Flat 6 cylinder C-Cab rear engine hot rod with a 3d set of Richard Carroll copy super wide tires. In a Turquoise Metallic! I know that these kits can be worth a lot, but if she brings home a trophy that’s cooler! Just some surf tiki madness!
  9. Looks great. I do like Jason's hoods
  10. The Bad Apple is done. This is a Drag City Castings 1932 Road Roadster Pickup. It’s a Drag City Castings body, roof, firewall and windshield on a Revell 32 Tudor frame with an AMT 29 Pickup bed. It features a “Louver Works” 3 row hood (thanks Jason) and a Texas 3D Winterfront Grill. It has the Revell Flathead with Iceman Collections carb, Parts by Parks Aluminum Air Cleaners and Beehive Oil Filter. Pro-Tech sparkplug wires, boots and separators. Wheels and tires are from MCV Products and are the 52 spoke 20/22” with Detail Masters valve stems. Color is 8 coats of Barbartos Rex Steel Apple over Tamiya Gloss black. All chrome was stripped and repainted with Revell Chrome or Alclad. Other details are Ron Coon steering wheel and pedals, VCG Resins shifter, Don Mills bed chains, Detail Masters fittings and seatbelts and Best Model Car Parts license plates. Just a cool looking pickup. Enjoy.
  11. All done. Full write up in under glass
  12. In the final stage of assembling everything. Tedious refitting after paint is always stressful. And have to make sure the bumpers are exactly level. Should be done in a couple days.
  13. Love his paints, This is the Copper from his line. They lay down amazing. I use his Airbrush from Gaahleri too.
  14. Paint (Barbartos Rex Candy Steel Apple) is done and has been cleared and polished. Now on to the final stretch.
  15. Some pics from the Buff-Con in Buffalo NY yesterday. The car classes were by far the biggest turn out. Great show all around.
  16. That's a great looking pickup. Very nice!
  17. Motor is done as are the wheels. Progress is being made.
  18. That kit is awesome when done well but it tries our patience for sure! Looks amazing
  19. Not bad at all. Paint the interior first. You will need some touch ups after the exterior is painted. When installing the interior start with the pie rack then tank lastly seats
  20. yes, ordered a few extra firewalls too. Not a fan of the sunken ones on the Revell kits. They fit the Monogram kits well too.
  21. Starting to do a couple mock ups on the Roadster build. MCV wheels, Revell 32 Tudor frame, Revell 29 pickup bed, VCG Resins Flathead and louvre Works hood. Going to be fun!
  22. The Tom Daniel Pie Wagon is done. This is the re-issue from Atlantis. I built this in the early 70’s as a kid but this time it’s a bit better built. All the body seams were molded together and smoothed before paint to avoid the huge gap that is usually present in these builds. Lowered ¼” in rear. Color is MCW Finishes Pink Panther Lacquer with Tamiya Pearl Clear and Gloss Clear. All chrome was stripped and rechromed with Revell. Engine details include alternator from Iceman Collections, and spark plug boots, wires and looms from Detail Masters. 3D rear shocks and steering linkage, and the valve stems on tires are also from Iceman Collections. Tom Daniel kits are still some of the coolest around. Enjoy.
  23. Getting closer to the end of 4 weeks in with most of the time in pre building the body and molding in the body seam that goes all the way around the body. Extra time on the motor too. Still need to do fuel lines. Decals need to cure and then clear and the polishing process. Maybe another week.
