  1. More tires arrived in the mail today! All ready for the next build!!!
  2. Slow time of year. When it’s 90+ in Western NY, hard to get motivated. But I like the ride height in the rear. Filled in the frame notches and wrong interior door jams. Slow and steady.
  3. At the stage where lots of mock ups and test fittings. Had to scratch build the front A arm to match the real one. Pretty close. So the front suspension is done and I’m happy with the look. Headers are together but need more details. Starting on the rear end ladder bars.
  4. Bobbed the frame while the putty was drying on the oil pan. Have to get the fenders on to see the correct height. So much for a stress free build. 😂
  5. Dspiae sander. Absolutely amazing tool. Got it on Amazon.
  6. Found an exact Chevy master cylinder in AMT 60 Chevy pickup kit for the actual match to the one on Milner’s. The Revell 29 Rat Rod donated the front wishbone needed. American Graffiti license plates came in today from Best Model Car parts. (THX 138)! The VCG Resins 6 carb manifold is morphing into an 4 carb Manifold. And fly tying tubing is a perfect match for the fuel lines. This is surely not an out of the box build!
  7. I guess when he is 85 and still enjoys his cars, a model seemed like a cool idea!
  8. She took first place at BuffCon in Hot Rod class!
  9. She took first place in Light Truck class at BuffCon !
  10. Josh only has the 6 carb manifold currently. But that is an easy fix.
  11. The ’81 Tamiya RX7 / Savanna is done, this build was box stock to copy my father’s current ’85 RX7. I built this for a Father's Day gift next week. (I know, this is right hand drive) This kit is from 1981 and had been sealed for 44 years! The plastic was super brittle and the roof had collapsed, but with patience I was able to warm and straighten it. The color is Mazda Sunbeam Silver (to match). This is a motorized kit, however the electric motor was eliminated, and the frame had the holes filled. Enjoy.
  12. With so much activity on the Milner Coupe, I think it's time to finally build my favorite Movie car of all time. That is a tough class too! So, using a Drag City Casting chopped 5 window body,(I love the Jimmy Flintstone body, but the chop is too much) Model Car Garage chopped 32 grill and a set of Jays Resin Steel wheels with Racemaster tires. I am using the 32 Revell 5 window and 32 Revell Roadster kits to round out the frame, small block Chevy and body extras. VCG Resins has a manifold that will work with minor adjustments. Using the Dec 96 Scale Auto Enthusiast magazine for final reverences. I remember sitting in the local theater when American Graffiti came out, sitting with my parents (Dad was a car guy too). I will swallow my pride and build the SBC motor, but being a Ford guy, it will be tough Here we go, Enjoy!
  13. I haven’t done any Pintos yet.
  14. Being a Western NY’er, need to do it. Wish I could find some Buffalo Bills license plate frames😂
  15. The Bikini Express is done. This is the Revell Patent Pending Dr. Krook C-Cab kit from the 70’s. It has the Revell Corvair Flat 6 with VCG Resin weber carbs, Ice Man Collections alternator. Pro-Tech sparkplug wires, Parts by Parks aluminum coil, Texas 3D distributor, and Mr. Model Aluminum Mufflers. The crazy wheels and tires are from 3D printed “copies’ of the wide Richard Carroll Tires printed by Ron Olsen (Thanks!!!). Color is airbrushed Testors Icy Blue Lacquer decanted and Tamiya Black and Iron Black. Decals are from the Fruit Wagon kit and Slixx decals. Interior has Iceman Collections rear door handles, Mr. Model Foot gas, clutch and brake pedals, Gofer Racing etched dash, a cool VCG resins Bomb shifter and a 3D printed 8-track player. And a Surf Shark Surfboard and rack. All chrome was stripped and repainted with Revell Chrome or Alclad. Just a super fun cool looking C-Cab Hotrod. Enjoy.
  16. ALL DONE!!! Full write up in under glass....that was a fun one!!!
  17. I’m at a point in my life where if I’m not going to sell it, I’ll build it for the fun and take to shows so people can see how cool these kits were. Also the box was real bad and I know the collectors love the boxes.
  18. Last night of building. Should be done tomorrow evening. I’ll post full pics on Under Glass. Home stretch!
  19. The December 96 issue of SAE has a great article on how to replicate Milner’s. Best Auto on eBay sell license plates for it too
  20. I have the same project coming up next on deck. Yes I plan out several builds in advance and only build one at a time. The Drag City Casting 32 Chop is very close to the actual chop, and Model Car Garage has a chopped 32 Grill, which Milner's had. But a hot rod is a hot rod, if you are building an exact replica of Milners, there are a lot of subtle things.
  21. I know. When I posted the original post I saw I miss spelled it. Could not figure out how to correct it. It’s almost done so when I post in under glass it will be corrected
  22. The Bikini Express is a roller! Now working on the interior, probably another week. Gotta love the 8-track player in the dash!
  23. Just a teaser. First coat of Icy Blue Metallic is on. Home stretch!
  24. Lots of squaring up and taping to the jig to ensure this 45+ year old kit is straight. Ready for primer. Red plastic can be problematic when going to a lighter color. All chrome was stripped and chromed with Revell
