  1. It is a reissue and it is worth every penny. Yes, it would have a 1131cc engine, which is fiscally a 1200 in Germany. Even a 1101cc would be.
  2. More pictures are here: http://s607.photobucket.com/albums/tt159/baronvonzach/Models/SMW%20Telford%202011/#!cpZZ1QQtppZZ20
  3. I always thought I'm the only one who was afraid of clowns. Gosh, they still give me the creeps.
  4. Over here you can use orange bulbs. And that's exactly the look I'm after. If you put an orange bulb into a clear turn signal lamp, it acquires an orange shimmer. I think Janne captured the look very nicely.
  5. No, but shaving your head might help.
  6. For 800k I'd expect something extraordinarily beautiful. Something I just really like I can have for a fraction of that
  7. Clarkson doesn't know a thing about cars.
  8. BMW Boston Grün Metallic. You should be able to get it at any motor factor's in Switzerland. It really looks like Sherwood Green Poly.
  9. Unbelievable. What do you use for the orange turn signals? I use Tamiya clear orange, but find it way too bright. Your's are just so much better looking.
  10. The AMT Capri came with a Cologne V6 IIRC.
  11. I really do appreciate your kind remarks, thank you so much. Yes, the model is quite nice. But as you may have gathered by now, I am my harshest critic. The model does lack the finesse, which I sometimes see in other builds in here. I have no idea how some people manage to get their models razor sharp in detail. Honestly, I am not set out to make anybody look low grade. But in the end, only the best is good enough. I will keep trying to get better, but you lot do a great job to help me lose my anxiety to post my models here.
  12. Mine fell at the Pasubio. His brother and his cousin, too.
  13. You can use silver paint. Might look a tad toy-like, but it does the job.

    Whacky!
  16. You can use CA, or clear laquer to glue PE parts. As for removing them from the trees, there are special pliers, but I use an X-Acto knife on a hard surface, i.e. a glass plate. You need to hold down the part you are cutting off though, otherwise you're in for hours of fun searching for it. I use all kinds of things to hold them down, eraser rubbers, toothpicks, small screwdrivers, etc.
  17. Yeah, but cabin fever goes so nicely with my savant syndrome
  18. Just another proof that money doesn't buy you taste.
  19. 11-11-11 apocalypse coming together perfectly 10-11-11 ECONOMIC collapse, nuclear brinksmanship and an asteroid are signs that tomorrow's end of days is shaping up well, it has been claimed. With the EU about to be plunged into gibbering chaos because of a wicked, lustful man with counterfeit hair, Israel dusting off the nukes and the YU55 space rock probably doubling back for another go, things could not be looking more biblical. Rapture organiser God said: “It was a toss-up between 11-11-11 and 12-12-12 but I went for the former because who knows what they'll be doing in a year's time. "I'm quite nervous about tomorrow because it's my first proper apocalypse, but the early signs are that it's looking even better than I could've hoped. "There's still loads to organise – I must admit I've skimped slightly on the pestilence – but touch wood it's going to be a winner. "Hopefully things should kick off about 10am tomorrow with Berlusconi's head on a spike and people of all nations shouting at each other. Midday the nuclear things start, then about 4pm I'm going to send in the abominations. "It's a very full day.” Professor Henry Brubaker of the Institute for Studies said: “I'm fairly sure the Mayans tried to warn us about this. "Though it would have been more helpful if they'd left a clearly-worded note instead of obscure pictograms, for f%$£'s sake. "On the plus side, at least it's a day off work.” Office worker Emma Bradford said: “I will be going to work regardless of fiery lakes because I get a real kick out of my customer services role. However I shall be having an extra cupcake at lunchtime.”
  20. Dr. Cranky, do you actually know what a Winter is where you live?
  21. Don't forget that a lot of US-Cars imported into Europe were COPO to begin with and built in batches. In the late Eighties I was the purchasing agent for the largest Corvette dealer outside the US at the time (we sold ca. 400 new Corvettes per year). They all were COPO. One of the things they did for us is leave the top speed restriction out of the software. Any potential customer who would have test driven a demonstrator restricted to 120mph (as the domestic models often were) would have walked straight to the Porsche dealership across the street. We also had to specify ours with EEC-spec taillights, H4 headlamps, no third brake light, no side markers, and 160mph speedometers. We always specified the lowest rear axle gearing available, and heavy duty everything. In lieu we always ordered them without A/C, because nobody in Germany deemed it necessary at the time, and without radios, because American radios wouldn't pick up European broadcasting frequencies. I know for a fact that Opel Häusler, a huge German GM dealer, also ordered his Caprices, Malibus, Camaros, Trans Ams, Blazers, etc. on the COPO scheme. All of them were thus built to specifications not generally available to the American customer.
  22. They call it "character". Unless it's a Ferrari (which do all this from new), then they call it "Fascination Ferrari". If it was an English car, they'd call it "typical rubbish".
  23. Thanks guys! But let me tell you what I find worth criticising: - The 'glass' is ill fitting. After more than thirty years, I am still very unsatisfied with my glass work overall. - The foil work is a bit heavy handed. This may have to do with the fact, that at the time my eyesight was already dwindling without me noticing it. It may turn out better now after I got my glasses. - The front bumper/grille assy is hanging off the model. This should have been corrected before the photos were taken. The colour is BMW Boston Green Metallic, and it does a good job approximating 1957 Chrysler/Imperial Sherwood Green Poly. I will never ever use such a dark colour on a '57-'63 Imperial again. These cars only look good in light colours.
  24. Scott has been living in Japan for what must be two decades now. He is Mr. HLJ btw.
