  1. I like Formula 1. BriSCA Formula 1 that is:
  2. The main difference between 1:24/25 and 1:16 is that when building 1:16 you can leave your glasses off. Oh, and you need more paint. A lot more.
  3. Once you have weaned yourself from Ebay and TV, you will start to re-realize that the world is actually quite a nice place full of sensible people.
  4. I'm going to get those books, this is highly interesting. I know that those contests were also carried out by GM's overseas companies Opel and Vauxhall in the Sixties. One of the prizes from Vauxhall was to finance the winning models being made into miniatures by Lesney Matchbox for mass production. One of them was the 'Guildsman': I have seen pictures of a few models built in Europe for those contests, but unfortunately no books exist.
  5. How big are those models? What scale are they?
  6. Why can everybody paint wood except me?
  7. Mine must be the Revellogram '59 Caddy. I parted out at least ten of them to build hearses, some pimped ECTOs, some Flintstone resins. The chrome pieces of both ECTOs are useless, since they have the flashing lights molded into the grille. I also use the wheels. Since most of my hearses are curbsides, I am left with quite a few engines from the Revellogram kits. I whacked the rear portions off of some of the leftover Revellogram bodies and made them into '59 Caddy sofas.
  8. Решетка выглядит усы Сталина!
  9. Only to paint the 'wood' would take me more than a week. No, month. No, year. Probably decade.
  10. I also have used Chrome Tech in the past and always was more than satisfied with the quality and service. For the latter, I'm old-fashioned enough to realize that outstanding quality cannot be achieved within a couple of days. I haven't tried Alclad yet, so I have no comparison. It also seems to require sophisticated airbrush work to turn out it's best, an art I have never mastered. All things considered, I'm still inclined to prefer the services of Chrome Tech. Why change a working system?
  11. Yay, an ashtray, cigarettes and a lighter! The basic life support systems are in place...
  12. Is Alclad as good as plating, yes or no?
  13. It's been a while since I saw a simple Jeep being built. Almost forgot how tasty they can be.
  14. If it has an opening bonnet and an engine, it can't have been built from the snap kit, unless the builder performed some drastic plastic surgery on it. My educated guess is that it was built from the GC-1600 kit.
  15. What to Assemble with When You Have No Clue...

  17. I'd say it requires a lot more balls to patrol unarmed.
  18. I'd say you take a bigger risk getting back from work every evening.
  19. You guys are so lucky. At least you have a hint of a chance. We don't:
